The only one we have ever really seen was Illuminations and I didn't really care for it. We have seen Wishes but like hubby said once we were over in Fantasyland and the other time it was from outside of the Magic Kingdom so we didn't get the full effect. Every year we say we are going to see all the fireworks shows...Maybe this year we will actually get it accomplished.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a bit more on this.

Have you seen it right where it "should be seen"? Despite what they said that it can be viewed all around the lagoon, the best place to see it is on the pavilion right at the entrance to World Showcase coming from Future World. This is the ONLY place where you can see it in its full symmetry (the other place, which would be on the opposite side of the lagoon, is blocked off by the show pavilion in front from the America pavilion).

I'm asking you this because I had the same, initial reaction the first time I saw Illuminations. It was from a poor angle, and we didn't have that good of a view. I didn't care that much for it. It was only the 2nd time that I view it from where I mentioned (and the same location where I did my video), that I finally saw it in its full glory. I've also seen it up close as being one of those people who got to sit right by the front railings at this pavilion and felt as if my eye brows would get cinched by the heat.

One could also say the same thing about Wishes. While it can be enjoyed from many different places, there is only a limited range of places where (i) you can see it in its full symmetry and (ii) you get to see the lights, patterns, and actions on the Castle during the show (and not miss Tink). I think everyone should at try to see it at least once (or twice) at these "sweet spot" locations. That way, you get to see it the way it was designed, and then enjoy it later during other times at other places.

Ah, then may I suggest that you give it another try, but this time, view it at my recommended place? You may have to get there an hour ahead of time, and stake your place (I can give you an exact spot where you should stake your claim). You'll be surprised at how different the experience can be.

I actually had my photo show up on the castle the last time we were there. Sadly we didnt catch it in time to get a photo but I was so excited. They had a photo of me in the wheel chair smiling I think my Fiance had been rushing me around making it a game for me at the time.

I am still wondering if I should pay to go to MVMCP to see the fireworks and parade. We never go on rides. we just get good seats for the parade and fireworks and stay there. So is the fireworks all that different from the other nights in Dec. Is the fireworks and parade worth the extra 60.00 if we don't do the rides?

Please check my earlier post this this thread. I posted a series of videos on the various fireworks shows, including Holiday Wishes. You may judge for yourself if it is different enough from the regular Wishes.

My favorite show is Wishes. I have seen it from the balcony at California Grill and inside the park. My favorite is watching in the park. There is something so magical about Wishes that makes me smile and cry at the same time. My kids love Fantasmic! because of all the characters but there are not as sentimental as me.

So they don't have any other fireworks for Christmas besides the Holiday wishes. Okay I thought holiday wishes was for the entire holiday season not just MVMCP nights.

Hallowishes has to be my favorite, but Fantasmic! is a close, close right on the heels, second. Wishes is a close third. It's so hard to pick though. They are all wonderful. Disney goes all out for their shows.

You might want to do this soon. There are rumors that they're thinking of making a substantial change to Illuminations, even eliminating it completely in favor of something new.

Ahhh! I hope they keep at least parts of it, if this is true. I have a soft spot for Illuminations, it never fails to touch my heart. muchlove

I finally got to see HalloWishes this fall at MNSSHP and it totally lived up to the hype - one of the best I've ever seen. I know it's a bit obscure and it had a comparatively short run but the Summernightastic show will always be my sentimental favorite.

I would not miss illuminations. It is my least favorite nighttime show. I just dont think there are a whole lot of good places to see it and it all seems so far away out in the middle of the lake. Never been a big fan, sorry and no offense to those of you who love it, I know many do. JMHO.

I voted for Illuminations. It's more of an adult-type show. I love the anticipation, with everyone around the lagoon. I like the pre-show music. I like the message of the show and how it's done. It's pretty unique. And I love the Illuminations music. It's very inspiring.

I used to also like the Tapestry of Dreams parade that came before Illuminations, but Disney did away with it for some reason. Anyway, we go oooonnnn!

That's the major reason why Illuminations is my favorite. It is unlike any other Disney nighttime shows. It doesn't have Disney characters, it doesn't have Disney shows/movies they are trying to push, etc. It is a very bold move with a very bold message. You show a video of it to someone who hasn't seen it and that person would not have guessed that it is a show at Disney.

And in response to Julie, I would hate to think that the reason that you don't like this show is because you haven't found a good place to view it. One can say the same about any Disney nighttime shows if one didn't have a good place to view it. I, and several people on here, can give you suggestions on many places to get a good view of Illuminations.

Did you also get to view Tapestry of Nations? It was the "original" parade before they decided to add those "annoying" children's voices to the music. In my opinion, Tapestry of Nations is THE BEST MUSIC that Disney has ever produced. I play this tune very often, especially when I'm driving. I am so glad I bought the original CD before they completely removed the original tune and replaced it with Tapestry of Dreams.

If this turns out to be true, I'm glad we got a good view and night to see it! It's my favorite for a number of reasons. Though the pavilion from which we watched, Norway, it did not light up with the others. laugh

You're absolutely right. The original parade was by far the best. I know it's corny, but there was a real uplifting feeling from that parade and then Illuminations. I don't know if it would be the same in the post 911 world. But I have very fond memories of those evenings.

Those were the golden days of Epcot. I think that park has lost it's direction.

Oh it has to be Wishes for me. Out of all the firework spectacles I seen, Wishes is by far the most beautiful and amazing firework display I've ever seen.

I LOVE the Celebrate the Magic castle projection show. I feel like they basically threw it in as filler between the parade and fireworks, but it is AMAZING! After that, my favorite is Wishes and I especially love Holiday Wishes.
