Where to own?

Assuming I decide to buy, which resort would you choose? I've narrowed it down to the ones in the poll. There are factors (buying re-sale vs. Disney direct, how many years the contracts last, etc.), but for sheer "home resort" fun, which one?

I'd have to join everyone else and vote for the AKL. While the Contemporary "villas" might be awesome, the will probably be like the Contemporary: Really cool, but not quite cool enough to justify the price.

Sorry. Just can't help but go with the Beach Club. You're just so close to Epcot and have to spend so little time driving around... Dop't get me wrong--I love my WL and AKL, but 50 years is a long time walking from the room to the parking lot.

I don't know...I love the idea of being so close to the Magic Kingdom that I could walk there.

Contemporary's still an unknown quantity so I've gotta give it to AKL for now.

I heard they weren't even allowed to 'admit' the building over there was for DVC yet.

Contemporary is going to happen - I posted some info on the room layouts over at A Pocketful of Pixie Dust yesterday.

It will be pricey though - I vote for AKV - just for the animals - and it's our home resort. If I were going to buy resale i'd go for OKW.

I'm an idiot! Can't find the room layouts on the site, Mrs. S.--Will you post a direct link?

We just went through both the AK Kidani Village and the BL Tower mock-ups over at SS yesterday. I have pictures up at http://askdisneymouse.wordpress.com/

We have points at VWL, Vero, and SS. We'll probably buy in the aftermarket next time. We have 400 points, but it isn't enough to do all the things we like to do. Aftermarkets are good b/c you can still use them anywhere. We have had good perks in the past to buy the points we already have. We always borrow a year in advance. We'd cruise more with more points. Plus look at the future...Hawaii, Alaska cruises and probably Hawaii cruising too. It's just too good!
