Has anyone been to Legoland? What's it like? I guess in my head it's just a big garden with cool Lego statues all around. Is that pretty much it, or is there more? We have a Lego Discovery center near us and I'm honestly bored out of my mind when the kids want to go. How does Lego make a whole park work?
Who's been to Legoland?
I havent been personally but been told that if you have children over 8 years they will not enjoy it. Its very much aimed at young children with not a lot else for older and adults
we have a legoland not far from my house (in the UK) and its been said on the UK forum that is not even as good as the one we have here (and that's saying something!)

Yeah...I don't get it. A trip to the Lego store at Downtown Disney, and I'm ready to leave in 5 minutes. I mean, the things you can build are cool and all, but...I would love to hear more about it from someone who's been. It's the old Cypress Gardens, I believe, and I thought they had added some thrill rides to it before it finally went under.
My boyfriend and I were wondering if we would wanna go, so we looked up some stuff on it. Here's a video:
I can't say there's anything there that excites me too much. Personally, the Gardens seem like the coolest thing there.
I've been to LegoLand in California if you want to hear about that. It's probably similar??? Although, Disneyland in CA is NOT WDW in Florida, so.... maybe you don't want to hear about LegoLand in CA.

I think it's definitely aimed toward young children...I read 2-12. We actually got turned around last week on our trip and ended up really close to Legoland. I am kind of wishing we went because I know my son would have enjoyed it. We had to drag him out of the store in DTD. I don't think any of the rides are really aimed toward adults.
We took our 5 and 9 year olds there a few months ago, and they went BONKERS for it...absolutely loved it. I was underwhelmed, personally, because I have "Disney Expectations" at any theme park I go to, and therefore, am usually disappointed. For instance, customer service was well under par as compared to Disney.
BUT, the kiddos had a BLAST. And yes, it's definitely a 2-12 year old park. Probably more like 2-10. The thing that WAS cool, though, was that there were very mild roller coasters and "thrill rides" to help ease my 9 yo into the idea of bigger, wilder rides. My 5 yo was still a little intimidated by them, but there was still tons for him to do that were more tuned to his age group.
They have a section that's basically cool Lego structures, shaped like different cities--San Fran, NYC, Las Vegas, etc., and that was fun for a walk-through for kids and adults alike.
So, if you're going just as a grown-up? Meh. If you're taking younger kiddos, they're probably gonna love it.
