I have heard a lot of conflicting stores about that week. Some say is is a good time, others say it is packed. After doing a lot of research, I think if we ever book a Christmas trip we would go right before Thanksgiving. I know it may not be fully decorated but that looks like the slowest time and yet you can still do the Christmas Party thing.

Thats usually when we do it, but this next 2 years were going to buy an annual pass to save some money. So we would go the week after Thanksgiving, and then the following year, the week before Thanksgiving. So I keep going back and forth on it and if we should do it. Especially since Thanksgiving is later in November next year.
2 years ago we did the week after Thanksgiving, and it was busier than what we liked, but we enjoyed the cooler weather, and all of the Christmas decorations. And Animal Kingdom Lodge looks AMAZING with the tree up! So im torn... we will probably do it because at that point its not like were in a hurry to do everything anymore.

I'm thinkin' that timing will be good. It usually slows down a bit after Thanksgiving, when it's crazy. Now, mind you, I haven't investigated via a fancy Touring Plan or anything... Just my gut feeling as a frequent visitor. For what that's worth, lol

Lol, that is why I remained neutral on this subject. It would be a great time to be there though if the crowds are not bad. But...it takes me the whole month of December to get ready for Christmas. I am not sure if I could give up a week or not. Who am I kidding, if someone said lets go, I would!

In 2010 we went from December 2-6, and to be honest, did not think it was super busy. Or every really busy. That's supposed to be a low point between Thanksgiving and right before Christmas.
One warning, though - we found out they usually tape the Regis & Kelly Christmas Parade the first weekend in December, and it's usually that Friday and Saturday. BUT..they only tape at Magic Kingdom, and we did hear that MK on that Friday and Saturday could be NUTSO from all the people wanting to be in or around the parade. SO we just avoided MK on those 2 days and never had any problems. I think it's a great time to go.

great advice about the Regis and Kelly...we went one year to take our Christmas card picture w Mickey, and realized quickly that it wasn't a good day for MK! We quickly did the picture then went to another park. I remember one year MK was closed due to capacity for a while on that day. It's crazy and really not much fun, its so hard to get around. Definitely plan to avoid MK during that time. Watch the parade on tv and re-live it!
