Your Dream Merchandise

I love shopping, and over the years the type of merchandise Disney makes has grown and changed, some things are hot, then they're not. I love to find normal everyday things that have the Mickey incorporated in subtle ways. I wish that there was more done in that style when it comes to housewares.

I also wish that they offered larger sizes. As it is most of their clothes run small in my experience, and then shrink in the dryer to add insult to injury. I'm a big gal and it's rare that I can fine cute Disney clothes that will fit me, let alone when I take into account shrinkage.

What sort of merchandise do you wish that Disney sold that you haven't seen? What is your dream merchandise?

I kinda wish they sold some of the ingredients for certain meals or something like that. Like special sauces. Stuff like that. Like the salad dressing used at Whispering Canyon for example... I came out of there wanting to buy that exact salad dressing!

I agree with the thing about wishing they had more subtlety in their stuff. I wish they offered more clothes that just had tiny details in them. Or even the stuff they have at Trend-D that seems more adult, I like.

I also wish they had more Alice stuff that wasn't just tea sets...

Oh I LOVE that idea!! I would buy my weight in the pecan praline sauce from Boma. Just ship a case of that home to me! I think it would fit right in with the rest of their kitchen line.

With regards to the sauces, you could always ask your server if the recepir was available? I'm sure I've read this on a trip report somewhere!

I too would love more subtle Disney merchandise. A friend got a great black quilted little bag that looked like nothing 'special' until the Disney-trained eye looked closely....there was a hidden Mickey stitched onto the front of the bag! I looked everywhere on property and couldn't find it anywhere! I'd love more stuff like that!

This probably an outgrowth of "bride brain" but I'd love to see something feminine and elegant for the mature princess. Maybe something with the scroll work and fanciful touches that says Disney princess but doesn't scream it in pink pastel. Maybe jewelry or a nice leather handbag or a watch.

Have you ever looked at the ladies shop at Grand Floridian? They had this sort of thing in spring 2011. My biggest problem though was that once I washed it, it wouldn't have fit me anymore and there was no buying a larger size. There's usually a different selection of Dooney's as well as watches and jewelry, all for the more mature princess. Smile The GF Logo'd stuff had the GF Monogram on it and all said "Dream Big, Live Grand" very classy.

Dang, must have missed it last summer. Plus, we didn't really have much time last month, did we? Good to know it's there though.

There are a lot of places that you can ask if the recipes are available. At times I have mentioned at certain places how good something is and they brought a copy of the recipe out to me.

Based on my 13 years of relationship-al experience, I believe the correct answer is "Yes, Dear".

Here's one I had in my files.

Herb Pesto
From the kitchen of Chef Anette Grecchi, Wilderness Lodge's Artist Point restaurant:

1 cup fresh basil, washed and chopped coarse
2 tbsp. fresh sage, washed and chopped coarse
1 tbsp. fresh oregano, washed and chopped coarse
1/2 cup baby spinach, washed and chopped coarse
1/4 cup pine nuts
8 garlic cloves
1/2 cup Asiago cheese, grated
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
Kosher salt to taste
Fresh ground black pepper to taste
In a food processor or a blender, chop all of the herbs and the spinach together. Next, add the pine nuts and the garlic cloves and chop together. Then, add the grated Asiago cheese and slowly pour olive oil into the mixture to emulsify. Season to taste with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. This recipe makes approximately 2 cups. Serve with bread, crackers or over pasta.

I'm another for more subtle Disney clothing/items. A lot of it is very "loud". I'd love a purse like the one you described Kristen!

Used to have Pooh mixing bowls. They were dark green. Always wished they were white or off-white. Gave them to my niece who had a green kitchen.
A couple trips ago. . .
We bought a dozen coffee mugs. Standard size - Two different colors - brown and light blue with " it was all started by a mouse" on the inside rim. Outside is simple raised WDW script logo. Use them all the time, every day. Guests have always smiled at them.

Have never seen anything else quite as good since. We LOVE the mouse, but want things not so - cartoonish.

I've always wanted a nice set of coffee mugs, but our cabinet is more of a hodge podge of Disney mugs from the past several trips. I often tell my family that coffee tastes better with Mickey Smile

I'd like some more upscale merchandise. I love what they have but so much of it just doesnt hold up makes me sad. Maybe a few more dresses, and nicer jewlery too.

I would like a disk with the files to have characters embroidered on whatever you want there were some floating around ebay for a while but haven't seen any in a while

Good way to put it and this is the kind of stuff I look for. I wish they had more Sports pins. I'm a big sports fans, and would pay so much for a pin with my Miami Heat or my Dallas Cowboys on it. That, and as you guys mentioned, I love the subtle stuff like appliances and things of that nature. Household items. I also wish they sold bottles of disney-themed shampoo, soap, body wash, etc. with the fab five (in some way) on them.
