There's something special about this shield chandelier at AKL. There's a hidden Mickey in it. Can you spot it? I finally found it on this trip.

I'm assuming you used a tripod and staked your claim to avoid people passing in front of you, yes?

Kinda... It was rather difficult to do that early in the evening because the place was swamped with people. So I tend to move around a bit at that time. But as the evening progressed, and we also had the extra magic hours, the crowd thinned out, and I could basically go anywhere I wanted to take the pictures.

I'm glad to hear you're in for some warm weather for the rest of your trip--it's freezing everywhere else, it seems! How much longer are you folks there?

Unfortunately, we leave for home tomorrow evening. The week flew by way too fast. And the sad thing is that we have no more trips planned until possibly Sept. next year. After going to WDW 4 times this year, this will be a very long absence, so I can already sense a certain level of sadness about leaving tomorrow.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't have any trips planned in the near future either---a far cry from my once-every-three-months existance over the past year or so.

At least you get to re-live a bit by doing the trip report over on wdwmagic! Planning to head over and read it soon. Smile

Here are a few pictures I took from last night at Downtown Disney.

This is a walkway at Saratoga Spring along the lagoon facing Downtown Disney.

We are all packed and almost ready to leave the room. Will spend the last day at Epcot. Our flight is at 5:40 pm this evening, so this will probably be my last transmission from the Most Magical Place on Earth for this trip. Will post more after I get back.

Thanks for all the comments and letting me post these pictures here.

Even a blind frog catches a fly once in a while! This one was straight from the camera taken last week. The Castle is SPECTACOOLAR!

Poor ZapperZ. Just remember it is better to have been to WDW and left, then never to have been at all! Or something like that...

I really enjoy the balloons picture, Zzappers. That would make a fantastic desktop background--so cheery. biggrin

Here's another picture that can make a great desktop background, at least for the holiday season.

This is from the tree at AK.

At last count, I took a total of 1434 pictures on this trip! Smile

Another great shot ZapperZ. If you're interested and willing we're trying to develop a collection of desktop themes. I've put up how to best submit them in that thread and we'd love to put up some of your work.

This thread got quiet. No one else posting pictures?

Here's another one from my collection. This one taken during the past December trip. I like this one because of the 'stillness' of the picture.

Hey Zz! Good to see you! Hope your holiday was a good one.

Really like the Beach Club photo. It's such an interesting resort, as there's so much happening out in front (Boardwalk, Epcot, DHS, etc...), but back at the Villas by the Dunes Pool it's always so quiet and peaceful.

Do I recall there used to be an alligator in that thar canal?

Woah, that reflection is really crisp. Looks pretty cool.

I'd love to contribute some pics, but all mine are of people and not artistic at all Sad

Next time I go I will try to get some shots for this thread so Zz doesn't have to carry all the load!

Continuing with the theme of "quiet and reflective" picture, here's another one. And since there was a discussion on Olivia restaurant at OKW, I thought this is appropriate as well since this is looking right at the restaurant. This was taken very early in the morning at OKW when it was still quiet and tranquil, and the water was very, very still.

Can you believe I've never been to this resort! I've never even seen any descriptive photos of it! Thanks so much for this... I gotta go find some more pics of OKW. silly

No two ways about it. This is one of my most Happiest Picture that I have in all of my collection. It always reminds me of the sight that I always see when I had just arrived to WDW and about to start a wonderful vacation there.

This is too much fun!! I'm giving Zapperz a run for his money!

Here's the old Anniversary castle...now just a distant memory from 2005:

And a fun action shot from L...M...A!

And finally, another Morocco pic. I like the sun reflecting off of the mosaic tile...and, of course, my beloved palm trees!

That's the spirit! Don't let that nasty ZapperZ get away with it! Smile

I love the picture of the Anniversary castle. But is that Cindy's Castle? I don't remember the castle was decorated like that, or did I miss this part? I remember the gilding and Peter Pan and company flying around, but I didn't notice the decoration in your picture at all.

That is, indeed, Cindy's castle! It was decorated like that in 2005 for the Happiest Celebration on Earth. There were several sections of the castle dedicated to different movies; this must have been Alice in Wonderland!

Is that part of the wall mural at Rafiki's Planet Watch at DAK?

That's correct, sir!

I wonder if anyone goes out there anymore. It reminds me of Walt's original Discovery Island idea--something that's meant to get everyone away for a significant period of time. A "destination attraction." cool
