Yum..sushi

Is anyone a sushi fan?
On our last trip we ate at Kona and the Kona Island Sushi Bar was just opening up. We were tempted to eat there but at the time they only have 3-4 types of rolls and Dave is not a huge sushi fan so we skipped it.
I saw on the Disney Parks Blog today that they've decided to make it permanent (I will add this interesting tidbit here...that trip that we first saw it was over two years ago..it was considered temporary then..so apparently Disney needs two years to make up it's mind? Or am I missing something?)
Anywho,

The menu seems to of improved..or maybe my tastes have..

Hello crabcake roll...get in my mouth!

We had outstanding tempura shrimp rolls as an appetizer at DW's birthday dinner last night. More on that later.

I enjoy sushi, but DW is iffy at best. Best places for me to get some is at someplace that serves primarily something else. We've gotten some at California Grill which was very good and some at Teppan Edo that was not bad.

Do you know if you can actually order sushi while you're at Kona or do you have to go over to the sushi bar?

There's actually getting to be a pretty extensive list of places to get sushi in WDW.

When I was there they did say you could order it at Kona. That was a few years ago so I'm not too sure if they do it anymore.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to order it at Kona. Disney's usually pretty good about grabbing you something from next door if it's available.

Hi guys, newbie here.

The best sushi I have EVER HAD IN MY LIFE was at Cali Grill. Tuna Three Ways. I could have eaten 6 plates of that stuff.

The sushi at California Grill is absolutely fantastic. Yoshi, the sushi chef is very well respected in the industry. She is creative but can make phoenomanal traditional rolls too. I think CG is the only place at WDW to get exceptional sushi.

I've had sushi at Tokyo Dining and it was good but not special. Probably very similar to the sushi bar in your town where you go to get decent sushi, but it never knocks your socks off.

CG is actually the only place in WDW I've had sushi. It was very good.
