• Celebrate Halloween This Fall With Mickey's 'Spooktacular' In-Room Celebration

    It was one of their most popular offerings last year, and now Disney Floral & Gifts has announced its return. We're talking about, of course, their Mickey's "Spooktacular" In-Room Celebration.

    This particular celebration brings some of the Halloween magic back from the Disney parks to a guest's resort room. After returning to the room, guests are greeted with cobwebs, a sash, and other various Halloween decorations on their room's door. Inside, the room is designed to look like Mickey himself has stopped by and personalized a fun, spooky celebration.

  • Apply Now for "My Yard Goes Disney"

    The folks at HGTV's summer series "My Yard Goes Disney" are seeking out new applicants who are interested in giving their yards the magical Disney treatment.

    Jay Shatz, executive producer and director of the show, has now opened up his website, jaytv.net, for more applications. For the show's first season, applications were sought from those living in and near Orlando and Cincinnati. However, the contest appears to be open to people throughout the U.S.

    The house of the man behind Mickey and friends is now on the market. Walt Disney's Los Feliz estate, aptly named Working Way Residence, has been listed for $3.65 million.

  • Art of Animation Resort: Topped Out

    Construction may be slow going at Downtown Disney, but it is full speed ahead at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. This past week, the resort was the site of a "topping out" ceremony - an important step in its construction.

    The topping out ceremony is steeped in history and takes place when steel is placed in a building's highest part of the frame. An evergreen tree is hoisted to the top of the frame for good luck and is a tradition that dates back to the Vikings era.

  • Disney Cancels ESPN: The Weekend

    Disney recently announced the cancellation of the annual ESPN: The Weekend event.

    The yearly event began in 2004 to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of ESPN. Since then, Disney's partnership with ESPN has grown to include opportunities for many athletes through the Wide World of Sports Complex.

    Though the event is cancelled, ESPN and Disney will continue to partner together and move forward. Events such the ESPN RISE Games and ESPN RISE Girls Showcase will be a focus. The duo will also continue to encourage and provide ways for fans to become involved in sports' events.

  • Mark Your Calendars Now for "Halfway to Paddy Day"

    Heading to Walt Disney World in September? You might want to mark your calendars now for Saturday, September 17. While it may seem like any other ordinary Saturday, Raglan Road in Downtown Disney will be celebrating the halfway mark to St. Patrick's Day with a party.

    Live music, Irish dancing, competitions and giveaways highlight Ragland Road's "Halfway to Paddy Day" party. The event is set to kick off at 5 p.m. with a traditional Irish ballad band followed by the Ragland Road dancers. Also on tap is the U2 tribute band Elevation.

  • Party in Downtown Disney Today with Verizon and Radio Disney

    If you're in the Walt Disney World area and are looking for something (else!) to do that's free and family friendly, then you might want to check out Downtown Disney today. Verizon and Radio Disney are teaming up to host a party at DD's Waterside Stage from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • New Disney Vinylmation Collectibles Unveiled

    Attention Disney collectors! This week, Disney has chosen to debut two new Vinylmation collections at this year's Comi-Con.

    First is the Robots Vinylmation series which was unveiled just two days ago at the annual convention. This line takes a cue and inspiration from wind-up toys of the 1950's.

    There are a dozen of the three-inch figures that sell for $9.95 as well as three
    nine-inch figures that retail for $39.95. Look for this line to be available for purchase in Disney stores today.

  • See Lightning McQueen at DHS Extreme Stunt Show

    There's some good news for you "Cars" fans heading to DHS this year. Lightning McQueen is now up and running at Disney Hollywood Studio's Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.

    Last month, we reported "Cars 2" star Lightning McQueen would be joining the cast of the popular DHS show this summer, and now it looks like you can catch the charming character in the show daily. Also, you can meet up with McQueen and his sidekick Mater before or after the show in The Winner's Circle.

    Congratulations are in order to Jiko - The Cooking Place for making Wine Enthusiast magazine's top 100 list of best wine and fine dining restaurants in the United States.

    The Animal Kingdom Lodge's African-inspired restaurant boasts an impressive, award-winning wine list that features a large collection of South African vintage wines.

    A few more Florida restaurants made the list as well, including Prime One Twelve in South Beach, Hakkasan at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Bern's Steak House in Tampa, Baires Grill in South Beach and Angle Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach.
