German Tourist Accused of Making Fake Bomb Threat at WDW

This past Sunday morning, a tourist from Germany was arrested after allegedly making a fake bomb threat near the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.

Jochen Naumann, 37, apparently told cast members working the security checkpoint at the Magic Kingdom that he had two bombs in his backpack. When the cast member questioned Naumann further, the German tourist repeated he had bombs in his backpack.

A sherriff deputy stationed at the checkpoint then called in a bomb-sniffing dog while he took the tourist into custody. The dog did not find any explosive devices in the man's backpack.

Frozen Draft Beer Invades the U.S. - At Epcot's Japan Pavilion

It's a hit across the ocean in Tokyo, Japan , and now it's hit the mainland U.S. We're talking, of course, about frozen draft beer; guests heading out to the Japan Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase can now sample one of these frosty beverages.

As you can see in the picture, the beer looks like it's topped with a whipped topping of some sort, or even ice cream. Rest assured, it's truly a cold beer, Kirin brand, topped by frozen beer. The frozen topping helps the beer retain its refreshing coldness quite a bit longer than its regular counterparts.

Country Bear Jamboree Gets a Slight Revamp

The Country Bear Jamboree, that Frontierland staple, has recently reopened after being closed for refurbishment; it's received its first updates since it first opened back in the early '70s.

First up, those heading out to take in the show might appreciate the new benches, curains and backdrops. The bears, too, have also be given a makeover, receiving new fur and clothes. In addition, Disney Imagineers have reworked the show itself a little bit, cutting some of the dialogue and music and shortening the overall presentation by about five minutes.

Disney Being Sued by Stan Lee Media

Recently, Stan Lee Media has filed a suit against the Walt Disney Co. seeking "billions of dollars of profit" while claiming they own the rights to Marvel characters such as Iron Man and Spider Man.

Stan Lee, creator of many of the popular Marvel characters, no longer is associated with Stan Lee Media. That company says Lee gave it the rights to the characters back in 1998, but then assigned the same rights to Marvel about a month later.

In this latest suit, Stan Lee Media states:

Recall of Disney Hoodies and T-Shirts From Target

There's been a recent recall of children's Disney fleece hoodie and t-shirt sets sold at Target during the fall and winter of 2011 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall is due to excessive amounts of lead on the hoodie zippers' coatings.

You may want to take note of this: Disney recently announced (with a huge ice castle in New York City's Time Square) they will be adding something called "Limited Time Magic" to their parks next year. Disney describes this new bit of magic as "unexpected experiences with an extra sprinkle of Pixie Dust . . . that'll appear, then disappear when the next debuts."

Here are just a few of the things Disney has in store for next year:

'Magic Band' on the Horizon for Disney Tickets?

Could an electronic wristband that would replace paper tickets at Disney parks be in the works? Possibly, according to a Disney filing with the Federal Communications Commission.

The report, filed by Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts, is for a "radio-frequency wrist band." The name given to the device on the cover letter sent to the FCC by Disney is "Magic Band."

The "Magic Band" is described in the FCC filing as follows:

Zebras To Be Finale of Safaris at Animal Kingdom

It may seem hard to believe that zebras haven't been a part of Animal Kingdom's Kilimanjaro Safaris for a few years. But that won't be the case much longer as Disney is slowly reintroducing the white-and-black striped animals to the theme park's savanna where they will be featured in the finale for the safari attraction.

A herd of fifteen zebras have called the backstage, behind-the-scenes areas of AK home since February and have been acclimating to the new surroundings since. The zebras, of the Plains variety, are all female and range in age from five to ten years old.
