Disney Springs Closes Early Due To Curfew And A Message From Disney Leaders

Civil unrest occurring across the nation has prompted action from Disney as Orlando and Orange County institute a curfew following nights of rioting over the death of George Floyd. Disney Springs will be closing early until further notice to allow guests and cast members the ability to make it home in time. Disney Company leadership CEO Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Bob Iger, and Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer of The Walt Disney Company Latondra Newton also released a joint statement to Cast Members regarding this time of civil unrest.

Walt Disney World Reservations Cleans The Slate To Move Forward

Walt Disney World Reservations put out some pretty heavy information last night laying out the beginnings of their plans to move Parks and Resorts forward with a brand new reservations system. As a result of the COVID-19 impact they have had to re-evaluate a slew of existing operational systems including hotel packages, park ticket sales, advanced dining and experience reservations, fastpass+ systems, and extra magic hours.

July 11th Reopening Proposed For Florida Disney Parks

The Walt Disney Company submitted its reopening proposal to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force this morning laying out the process for moving forward. Jim McPhee, Senior Vice President of Operations Walt Disney World, made the presentation of guidelines and protocols that was required by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis before reopening could occur.

Disney To Present Reopening Plans For Walt Disney World Today

The Walt Disney Company is set to make its reopening proposal to Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force today May 27th, 2020 at 10:00 AM EST. These plans with cover the guidelines and protocols which will be in place to keep both guests and cast members safe as operation resumes, as well as the highly anticipated reopening date. Once approved my Mayor Demings the proposal with move forward to the office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for approval.

Friendly staff at The Polite Pig is once again open at Disney Springs and welcoming guests to sit down for some fantastic barbecue. The restaurant is "committed to providing a safe environment for our guests and staff" as Walt Disney World begins to find its operational footing during the pandemic.
