Sunday Round-Up for January 9, 2011

For our second Round-Up of the new year I thought we'd start with some great posts about the other Disney parks around the world. Reading a blog post about them may be as close as I ever get to going so let's take a look at some offerings.

December 13 was a lucky day for some serious "Pirates of the Caribbean" fans. Disney debuted the trailer to the upcoming fourth installment of that movie franchise to a special, invite-only audience at the California Downtown Disney that day.

Wanting to give fans a chance for the ultimate first look at Captain Jack's continuing adventures, Disney had a few ways people could score an invitation to the debut including liking a Facebook page, registering online or calling a local California radio station.

Mickey's Toontown Fair's Last Day Is In February 2011

If you want to visit the Magic Kingdom before Mickey's Toontown Fair closes, you'd better start planning soon. That particular area of the park is set to be closed on February 11, 2011, as part of the ongoing Fantasyland expansion.

This isn't exactly shocking news as Disney had announced plans to "repurpose" Goofy's Barnstormer when the first news of the expansion hit. However, it is a bit of sad news as the Fair has become a fixture at the kingdom and is a popular stop among the character-seeking set.
