Must Do and Won't Do

So far we've given you our background and our love of food, music, and movies. The one "big" aspect of Disney we haven't touched on yet is the parks themselves. In discussing what we would write about this week, several ideas were tossed about. How best to share our love of the parks? There is so much to discuss, to argue over, to dissect. Monthly Payment Plan Available To Florida Annual Passholders

Florida residents wishing to purchase an annual Walt Disney World pass now have a monthly payment plan option. As you might imagine, this plan would allow the cost of the pass spread out over twelve months.

It is worth noting, though, that those wanting to take part in this option need to be ready to pay one day's admission when buying the annual pass. The remaining cost is then billed to the passholder for the next twelve months with no attached finance charges.

Temporary Contract Extension for Disney and Union

It might not seem like they're agreeing on much, but Disney and its largest labor union did agree to temporarily extend their current contract on December 9, 2010. This moves the contract's date of expiration from December 11 2010, to January 20, 2011.

Currently, nearly 21,000 of the more than 60,000 Florida parks workers are represented by the unions involved in negotiations with Disney. Those negoations, started in the summer of last year, remain at a standstill despite the intervention of a federal mediator. There is no news at present when those talks will resume

Whatever ties that bound Disney to Miramax were severed as of December 4, 2010. That date reflected the closing of the sale of Miramax to a group of investors that included Colony Capital, Qatar holding and Ron Tutor for some $663 million.
