5 Reasons Why We Love the Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts

I will go ahead and say this now, the Yacht Club and Beach Club are my favorite resorts at Disney. I love everything about them from the theming to the food and of course Stormalong Bay!

Here are my top 5 reasons why I love staying at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts:

Disney's Beach Club ResortDisney's Beach Club Resort

  1. Stormalong Bay. Our Facebook fans recently rated it as their favorite pool in all of Disney World. From the pirate ship water slide to the sandy bottom pool there is something for everyone here!
  2. Dining Options. The Yachtsman, Beaches and Cream, and the Cape May Cafe are just a few of the great dining options available at the the resorts. Whether you want a great steak, a burger, delicious seafood, or an out of this world ice cream sundae the Yacht and Beach Clubs have great dining options.
  3. Location. With Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Boardwalk all within walking distance its hard to beat the location of the Yacht and Beach Club resorts. The convenience of being able to head to Epcot to grab a bite to eat and ride Test Track and then walk (or take the boat) to Hollywood Studios for a go on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and a cupcake from Starring Rolls is quite simply, amazing!
  4. The Beach. Even though Disney World isn't on the coast of Florida you can still hit the beach in front of the Beach Club Resort. Relax on one of their lounge chairs, and be sure to catch a movie on the beach at nighttime!
  5. Theming. One of my favorite family vacations was to Nantucket so whenever I'm at the Yacht Club and Beach Club it brings back great memories. The theming of the resorts create an atmosphere that is so relaxing.

I think you've hit the nail right on the head with this one, Kasey! I'd agree with each and every thing you note above.

We were fortunate enough to stay here in 2009, and could not top the location and the pool.

When we we there, we were greeted every day by an extremely friendly gentleman named Art. It was my birthday, so I had my birthday pin on. Every time he saw me with that pin, he'd smile at me and say "No burgers and fries - just lobster and steak for you today!"

Our last day there, I was so taken with Art I decided I wanted to get a picture with him and get his autograph. But that last day, he wasn't there. I was sooo disappointed that I waited and missed him.

It was only a few weeks later that I learned Art was basically an institution at the Beach Club, had his own Facebook page and fan club, and had retired as of that last day I tried to get his picture!

Love the Y&B Clubs! They're warm, friendly, so welcoming. And when we pull in for our arrival almost always the security guard is a retired police officer from Newark, NJ, my home state! When he says "welcome home" I get chills! Just love it there!
