5 Things Not To Miss On The Menu At The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival continues to go on until July 5th this year! That means that if you haven't had time to get down to taste the goodies at the Outdoor Kitchens - there is still time. Last month I was in the Vacation Kingdom and tasted my way around World Showcase. These are just a few of the things that I think you shouldn't miss on the menu!

Trowel and Trellis, hosted by IMPOSSIBLE Foods, is a fantastic stop and home to two of my favorite things at the festival this year. The first is the Twinings of London Energize Matcha Cranberry & Lime Green Tea (non-alcoholic). I had consumed quite a bit of alcohol by the time we got to this booth and the pretty tea mocktail was the perfect thing to quench my thirst. I'm not even that big of a green tea fan, but this was fruity, light, and refreshing.

Next up was the star of the whole show as far as I'm concerned. The best thing I have eaten at an Epcot festival in years. Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with Savory Garlic Spread (gluten/wheat friendly; plant-based) is elotes done right. Guests can even watch the chefs grill up this delicious offering on wood fired grills just off to the side of the booth. Perfectly balanced, you may want to get one for each person in your party to avoid the fight.

One of my all-round favorite foods is on the menu in Italy at the Primavera Kitchen and they didn't disappoint. Plus - the ample portion is perfect for sharing if your group is trying to taste a bit of everything. What am I talking about? Arancini! These Sweet Sausage Fried Risotto Balls with Pomodoro Sauce are super flavorful, and pair perfectly with the frozen sangrias from Italy's brand new gelato shop.

Moving around World Showcase we head on over to the Japan Pavilion where my husband consumed TWO portions of the Shrimp and Crab with Spicy Mayonnaise and Cucumber Slices at Hanami. It was hot while we were there and he said that these little bites were the perfect combination of flavorful and cool. It doesn't hurt that they make their own Hidden Mickey on the plate.

I'm going to cheat a little bit on this last selection for my favorites list because it's the entire menu at The Honey Bee-stro Hosted by National Honey Board! While I wasn't terribly fond of the beverages on offer, when it came to the food here I just could not pick a favorite. The Tupelo Honey and Sweet Corn Spoon Bread with Jalapenos, Bacon, and House-made Whipped Honey Butter was phenomenal... be sure to let that butter melt down into the bread. The Lavender Honey Mustard-marinated Chicken Flatbread could be on a regular menu at a restaurant and I would be the happiest camper. If you've never tried Purple Haze Lavender Goat Cheese before you are in for a treat. But the Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake, I did not want to share. Just buy one of everything.

Everywhere we went at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival we were met with delicious foods and drinks that showcased bountiful gardens from around the globe. What can't you wait to try?
