New Cocktails at the Tambu Lounge

While waiting for Dinner at Ohana my traveling companion and I decided to check out some of the new drinks on the Disney Cocktail Menu. We had become well acquainted with the Lapu Lapu and appetizer menu on previous trips, this time we thought we should get a little adventurous. With that in mind we left our cocktail comfort zone and ordered three new offerings and one of the specialties from the Tambu Lounge menu.

Scottish Raspberry Lemon Drop - Hendrick's, Muddled raspberries, fresh Lemon Juice, and Agave Nectar topped with Wildberry Foam.

I had really been looking forward to trying this new drink on the Disney Cocktail Menu. I had seen it online and it sounded so good to me. The problem? Well, I didn't know what Hendrick's was. I discovered that it's a unique small batch gin infused with rose and cucumber, and while I had been looking forward to a fruity sweet & tart combination of Raspberry Lemony goodness, all I could really taste was the Gin. I guess that I'm not big on gin, and I had difficulty searching for the flavors I had hoped for over the alcohol.

Forever Young - Made with Tito's Handmade Vodka, Cedilla Acai Liqueur, Muddled Blueberries, Agave Nectar, and fresh Lemon Juice.

Milder than what I was sipping, the Forever Young offered a gentler flavor with it's antioxidant rich fruit base. Sweet and boozy it a good choice for those who want something that focuses on the alcohol, yet is tempered with dark fruit flavors.

Backscratcher - A blend of Bacardi Superior Rum, Myers's Original Dark Rum, and Passion Fruit Juice, topped with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey and garnished with a Bamboo Backscratcher. This specialty drink found at the Polynesian's Tambu Lounge has found quite the fan following over the years.

Because while laying in your hammock on the beach, you don't want to be bothered with those hard to reach places. Just like the Lapu Lapu, this drink has quite the kick to it and kept my traveling companion feeling good throughout our meal. It was also fruity enough that I would enjoy it too.

Tropical Infusion - SKYY Infusions Dragon Fruit Vodka, Strawberry Purre', Pineapple Juice, Coconut, and fresh Lime Juice.

A little like two drinks in one, this may have been my favorite "new" cocktail on the Disney Bar Menu. The top portion is bright and fruity like a key lime pie, perfect if you enjoy tart drinks. When you stir up the strawberry puree' the thick sweetness of the mixture transforms this drink into a delightful combination of sweet and sour fruits with almost no alcohol flavor.

The Tambu Lounge is one of my favorite places to grab a drink, and it's always the first stop on my annual monorail crawl. With the New Cocktail Menu it offers some fun options that I hadn't had before. Just remember that many of these cocktails pack a punch, and you may want to balance it all out with some food, even if you get there just before dinner.

Backscratcher!!!! Give the backscratcher to some little kid who is becoming restless or is just cute at another table...cause they've been looking at it since the drink was presented LOL

I prefer the traditional Pina Colada in the glass tiki head cup!

Based on your review, I would be on the floor in no time at all (either that or worshipping the porcelain god) if I tried to finish even one of these drinks, food or no food. Guess I'll have to stick to my usual one glass of wine.

Gotta admit, that Tropical Infusion sounds awesome, though.

You might be able to handle the infusion, I only had one and it was with food and I didn't feel like I had drank at all.

Every time I see a picture of the Backscratcher I get flash backs to this guy I used to work with. When I would have meetings with him in his office, he would pull out his backscratcher to scratch his back. Then he would leave it there. Try having a meeting with someone with the handle of a backscratcher sticking out of the back of his shirt and not laugh.

There are actually certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. Which is a terrific point to bring up. I give the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly you will find questions like the one you bring up exactly where by far the most essential thing will be working in honest fine faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged about points like that, but I'm certain that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls really feel the impact of just a moment's pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
