Now if you don't know anything about Rogue One, you really aren't alone. Currently the only information that has been given is that it takes place prior to Episode IV: A New Hope. We also know that the lead is being played by Felicity Jones from "The Theory of Everything." The other members of he cast include: Diego Luna rom "Milk" and "Killing Them Softly", Ben Mendelsohn from "Bloodline" and "Mississippi Grind", Donnie Yen From "IP Man", Jiang Wen from "Let the Bullets Fly", Forest Whitiker from "The Butler", Mads Mikkelsen from "The Hunt", Alan Tudyk from the upcoming "Con-Men" and "Serenity", and Riz Ahmed from "Nightcawler". While we don't have much of an idea as to who is playing which character except for Felicity Jones, this cast is an incredible find.

The film, which is slated for a December 2016 release, is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, who had the following to say about this new venture:

Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe," says Kathleen Kennedy. "It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth [Edwards] is such an innovative director and I'm so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he's selected for 'Rogue One.'

I can't wait to see where this movie is going to go. What about you readers? Would you like to see this new Star Wars franchise? What other stories would you like to see come out of the new Lucasfilms? Leave a comment below and share your thoughts.
