As the excitement for a new Star Wars franchise, new Star wars stories, and new Star Wars games begins to grow, Walt Disney World is taking their yearly celebration one step further. This year, in the guise of a Rebel Alliance recruiting program, the event known as Star Wars Weekends has added a fifth weekend to its already growing influence. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between the dates of May 16th to June 15th; Disney's Hollywood Studios will be turned over to the force as both the Rebel Alliance and the Sith Empire vie for new recruits with shows, cast members, and special guest host Star Wars Voice actor, James Arnold Taylor.
What will not be seen at Star Wars weekends, however, is the past favorite Hyperspace Hoopla. The long running attraction of Star Wars weekend has not had an official reason given for its cancellation, but there are many possible rumors or speculations as to why this has not been continued.
In its place, Disney has announced the inclusion of the "Symphony in the Stars" fireworks display that was shown at the 2013 "May The Fourth" celebration. "Symphony in the Stars" will take place every evening during the Star Wars weekend events.

My husband and I go to SWW every year. Even though it now involves a lot more travel for us it is so worth it. I am not a SW fan myself, but he is a huge fan. Seeing him take pictures with characters and lighting up during shows and parades makes the whole trip for us! Of course now we use SWW as an excuse to do a week in Disney every year so it is tons of fun for both of us
