Disney's Riviera Resort is a showcase of beautiful artwork at every turn and guests opting to use the Disney Skyliner get to view an imagineers beautiful ode to flight. Rising 20 feet in the air and arching overhead through a tunnel in the building, two stunning mosaic murals showcasing Disney storytelling of European tales creates a shared mosaic sky that reaches from our world into the realms of fantasy.
There's a connection here, as one always find at Walt Disney World. Guests leaving Disney's Riviera Resort cross the water in the form of fountains (you'll notice water is a theme in both the mosaic murals as well) to get to their magical transportation - Disney's Skyliner. Here, just like in the thematic mosaics guests will take flight on their way to new worlds that await in the Disney Parks. All you have to do is make a wish.
The first mosaic guests come across is the Rapunzel's floating lantern scene from Tangled. More than 1 million hand-cut tiles in total were used, some no bigger than the nail of your pinky finger. Each tiny piece was painstakingly laid by artisan hand to create this stunning archway of mosaic ingenuity.
Next Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael and John take flight by starting out soaring over the London sky, and following the second star to the right to eventually find themselves in Never Land. There are 500,000 tiles that make up Never Land alone!
It will certainly be your best day ever when you take time to view these delicate, intricately worked mosaic murals at Disney's Riviera Resort.
