Tips For Traveling During The Time Of COVID-19

Disney fans tend to be true blue sorts that don't let a whole lot stand in the way between us and our happy place. Many of us are just to get back to the magic after a stressful spring stuck at home due to the COVID-19 and all that has come with it. While The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) no longer is advising against nonessential domestic travel and Walt Disney World will be open again soon, there are still some things that you should know to help keep you safe while traveling through this new pandemic world.

Most of these tips aren't going to come as a big surprise as we've been hearing about them for months. These simple steps go a long way in keeping us safe out on the world right now and that doesn't change just because you step foot inside the Disney bubble.

Drive If You Can: Limiting your exposure to others in all stages of travel not only makes you safer but just might get you there faster. Disney will be reducing capacity of their transportation systems which means having a car on property might be a blessing.

Check Your Temp: Temperature checks will be required to enter some Disney spaces. If a temperature is 100.4 degrees or higher that guest and their entire party will be denied entry.

Distance Yourself: Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms' length) from other people. Yes, it's hard to do at Disney, but look for the new queuing guides that Disney will have on the ground to let you know just where it's safer to stand. Be aware of your surroundings and where other people are in relation to where you are headed.

Cover Your Mouth AND Nose: Wear a securely fitting cloth face covering when around others. Make this a little more fun by matching your masks to your outfits, maybe even buy some fun Disney themed masks for a little extra magic.

Practice Good Hygiene: Wash your hands frequently. Disney is adding extra hand washing and sanitizing stations across the property. If you have sensitive skin,or just want to indulge in a special scent pack your own mini hand sanitizers to carry you through your travels.

Bring Cleaning Supplies: Disney is stepping up cleaning procedures throughout Parks and Resorts, but it doesn't hurt to pack your own alcohol wipes to go over surfaces you will be touching.

Go Touchless: Now is the time to really get to know how to use all those fancy apps on your phone! From touchless check-in, to menus/ordering, and even payment options limiting contact through technology has never been easier. Disney is encouraging guests to use the full range of MyDisneyExperience options for a safer vacation. When things open back up guests will discover even more restaurants with mobile ordering, and guest services that can be accomplished through chat instead of stopping at the front desk.

Time It Out: Health officials say that seating at a restaurant and in the pool are two places that people will be allowed to gather without facemasks on. That means that its more important than ever to schedule your meal times, and your pool time for lower traffic hours. Try hitting the pool first thing in the morning before hitting the Parks or late at night after your return. Dining during the "shoulder periods" of mealtime will also help reduce exposure.

Be Patient and Kind: Everyone is a little more stressed out these days and Disney trips this summer are going to be different for sure. Patience and kindness towards other guests and Cast Members is going to go a long way right now. Now is the time to practice your ducky skills and let the troubles roll right off your back.

Be safe, enjoy your summer travel, and we'll see you real soon!
