Walt Disney World Breakfast Tips To Save Time, Money, and Stress

Getting out the door in the morning on your Walt Disney World vacation isn't always the easiest thing, especially if you're wrangling a large family. None the less, guests always emerge from their hotel rooms to make their way towards the heart of the magic. I've got 12 top tips for fueling up your morning while saving time, energy, and money on breakfast at Walt Disney World.

Before we get started, I want to note that few of these tips will contradict each other. That's because I don't believe there is any one right way to tour Walt Disney World. No matter what your Disney style, I want to save you time, money, or stress when it comes to those morning meals.

1) Breakfast options are both limited and expensive in the Parks, try and eat before you reach you destination for the day.

2) Breakfast is often the least expensive meal of the day at Walt Disney World. To maximize the value of your Disney Dining Plan credits, don't use them on breakfast, pay cash.

3) If you eat a light breakfast, you can often get some great breakfast options using just your Disney Dining Plan snack credits. Grab a pastry and a fruit cup at your resort hotel, then use your refillable mug for a drink. Thinking this way can extend the meals you have available with the smaller Dining Plans, saving you money.

4) If you're not a big breakfast fan, pack a few essentials in your suitcase (bagels, peanut butter, pop-tarts, and protein bars) and have a simple bit before heading out. This strategy can save both money and time. Milk and other basic perishables can be bought at your hotel store, and you can use your in-room fridge to store easy to make grab and go options.

5) Breakfast buffets are often considerably less expensive than dinner. Make your character meal reservations for breakfast to save money.

6) If hitting all the rides is a priority for your trip, consider making breakfast reservations for in Park meals as early as possible. Several Disney Parks restaurants start service even before the Parks open. This allows guests with reservations a hearty morning meal without missing out.

7) For a more relaxed meal, skip the breakfast buffets. Restaurants with menu ordering tend to be a little quieter in the mornings, which can be a great option for folks who have trouble starting their days. As a bonus they are also less expensive than Character Buffets.

8) Gone are the days that you need to pack your own coffee for a Disney vacation. Gourmet coffee brands Starbucks & Joffery's are readily available across the Walt Disney World property. Starbucks rewards members will be happy to know that they can use their Starbucks card and reward points at Disney Springs locations. Starbucks mobile order is also available.

9) If you are worried about the amount of money you will spend on your Disney Dining, consider using Disney Gift Cards to budget. Having your food money all in one place will help you to keep track of your spending and not go overboard.

10) Disney does not save any table times for walk-in customers at its table service restaurants. If you want to be guaranteed a seat at the table, be sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days before your vacation.

11) The hour or two around Park openings can be a crazy time at most Walt Disney World breakfast establishments. If you aren't chomping at the bit to hit the Parks early, consider sleeping in a bit and making a later breakfast reservation. Eating at off peak times, you're also more likely to find a last minute reservation or walk in availability at the end of breakfast service.

12) Having a reservation doesn't reserve your table at Walt Disney World, it simply let's the restaurant know that you are coming. Check in 5-10 minutes early at the podium to be seated as close to your reservation time as possible.

Thank you for the tips. There are some really helpful suggestions!

I do have a question, though. Starbucks recently updated locations where you can redeem your rewards. Last year, you could only redeem points at the two locations in Disney Springs. Can you now redeem points at the in-Park locations?

Thanks in advance!
