Walt Disney World News Round-up For Friday June 19th, 2020

What's in, what's out, more news you need to know for planning your Walt Disney World vacations throughout 2020. Florida's Disney Parks will be begin their phased re-opening next month but the faithful fans have been wondering if some of their favorite events will be returning. Check out the latest news from Walt Disney World about what's up next.






Head over to the Disney Parks Blog to read their introduction to the Disney Park Pass System and learn what you need to know about reserving theme park visits at the Walt Disney World Resort. Both valid theme park admission and a park reservation will be required, along with other health and safety guidelines.

By June 28, all guests will be able to purchase new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets for arrivals starting in 2021 as our phased reopening continues. As always Disney is about moving things forward and the next evolution of MyDisneyExperience technology is to move more function from the MagicBand to the palm of your hand through your smartphone.





The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will be modified year it will also kicks off earlier than ever as "A Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!" debuting when the Park reopens on July 15, 2020 and continue through the fall. The abbreviated festival will have 20 signature global marketplace booths, and include some elements more commonly found at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival as well.

In order to help maintain social distancing standards, Eat To The Beat Concerts will not be part of this years festival. However popular entertainment groups from around Epcot will be performing at the American Gardens Theater throughout the day.

A couple of new cancelations have been announced as far as annual special events go. Both H2O Glow Nights at Typhoon Lagoon, and the very popular Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom have been canceled for 2020.

Disney hasn't made a decision yet on the Winter Holiday events such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the Candlelight Processional will happen, but we will keep you up to date as soon as we know more.

Over at Disney Springs cookie lovers are anxiously awaiting the opening of Gideon's Bakehouse! The award-winning bakery known for half pound cookies and sinfully delicious flavors is set to open a new shop in The Landing. "Gideon's plans to bring an expanded menu of cookie and cake slices to Disney Springs, plus add its own line of unique iced coffees."

The rest of 2020 at Walt Disney World may be different, but rest assured that the company is doing everything within their power to bring the magic back to this happy place in the most constructive way possible. The strategy depends on shared responsibility between cast members and guests, but if we all pitch in and do our part incredible things can happen.
