In Marvel news, a change has occurred to the Avengers franchise. What was originally going to be a double movie, the Avengers: Infinity wars, will be completed as a single movie and not a part 1/part 2. The original part 2 will now be an untitled Avengers stand-alone movie. While over at the Dr. Strange camp, coming out this November, Kevin Feige who directs this first look at the mystical and magical side of Marvel is touting the virtues of 3D in experiencing Dr. Strange. Kevin Feige says that 3D is; "...the only way to see the dimensional story of Dr. Strange."

Over on our Star Wars side, Alden Ehrenreich has been tapped as the new, young Han Solo in the as yet unnamed Han Solo feature film. If it comes to fruition, Lawrence Kinden and Son will write the new Han Solo movie. While a feature film in nearly guaranteed, there is rumor that this may become a Han Solo trilogy. No word yet on production dates or a title.

The casting news for Disney is huge right now with three big name celebrities being linked to three very big movie titles. Morgan Freeman is currently in talks to join the already star heavy cast of the live action remake of the Nutcracker. There is no news on who Morgan Freeman is up to play. Meanwhile over on the next installment of the Mary Poppins movie, Merle Streep has joined the cast as Mary Poppins' cousin Topsy. There are no official details on the storyline for this promising production, but Emily Blunt will take the title role. And in a fairly controversial move, Channing Tatum has been tapped to play the Mermaid...err, Merman in the reboot or maybe sequel to Splash which originally saw Darryl Hanna as the title Mar-creature.

Last but certainly not least, the remake of a Disney classic is on it's way to theatres this month. Pete's Dragon releases on August 12th. The story of a young boy and his dragon originally released in the seventies and is seen as a childhood classic. This remake sees a new cast and even newer graphics while keeping to the story of love and family between a boy and his dragon. Or maybe it's the story of a dragon and his boy. I can't wait to see Dr. Strange. I would watch Benedict Cumberbatch read the phonebook. Love him!
