From Wine to Beer Steins to Teddy Bears: A Shopping Tour of Epcot’s Germany Pavilion

There's so much to love about Epcot's Germany Pavilion, from the beer to the bratwurst to the deliciousness that is Karamelle-Kuche. But did you know the pavilion is also a great place to stop and shop?

Grab your pocketbooks and let's take a stroll around the shops of the Germany Pavilion.

Just outside the pavilion you'll find a small, outdoor kiosk called Glaskunst. This shop specializes in glassware and steins, some with engravings. It's a fun little shop and if you're looking for a personalized gift, this is a good place to find it.

If you're a fan of wine and other spirits make sure you stop in the Weinkeller where you'll find more than 200 varieties of German wines. The store is an Imagineering marvel, as you feel as if you're in a wine cellar. In addition to the bottles of wine for sale, the shop also features a wine bar where you can sample many of the wines (for a price, of course).

Our friends at the Disney Food Blog have a great review of the wine flights at Weinkeller. It's a great deal and really is one of those "hidden gems" that you often find at Walt Disney World.

After you've enjoyed your wine flight at Weinkeller, head next door and visit the Kunstarbeit in Kristall shop where you'll find a sparkling array of crystal items.
The store sells crystal jewelry by Swarovski, Princess Plata, and others. You'll also find beautiful crystal creations from Arribas, Nachtmann, and Anna Hutte.

The youngsters in the group will want to visit Der Teddybar where you'll find German toys, teddy bears, and other gifts. The Disney Princesses are represented by Snow White and Rapunzel in this store (which makes sense since Germany is their homeland!).

You'll also find the Kidcot Stop inside Der Teddybar. The kids can get their Kidcot mask stamped by the cast members and they can sit down and add some artwork to it with the markers provided.

No visit to Germany is complete without a stop in the Stein Haus. Here you'll find a wide array of unique and authentic German beer steins. The shop also sells clothing items and some German candy. But the beer steins are the real draw here so be sure to take some time and check them out.

Inside Volkskunst you'll find incredible-looking cuckoo clocks, most of which are rather pricey. Even if a new cuckoo clock isn't on your shopping list, you'll want to visit this store! The clocks are so fun to look at, and the outside of the shop is rather beautiful too. The shop sign features a clock, and there's a gorgeous stained glass window on the front of the store.

At Das Kaufhaus shoppers will find a variety of German items including clothes and other souvenirs. The building for Das Kaufhaus is a replica of a medieval hall and features three suits of armor on the front of the store. As with the other shops in Germany, be sure to take some time to appreciate the details inside and outside the shops.

There are two shops in the pavilion that deserve mention but are popular enough to get their own blog posts later on. We're talking about Karamelle-Kuche and Die Weihnachts Eck, (the Christmas store). If you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth you can't miss Karamelle-Kuche, where you'll find a variety of delicious caramel treats. And if you're looking for a unique Christmas ornament (like a pickle!) stop in the Christmas shop.

The shops in Germany are full of fun and unique items but one of the things we love most is the incredible detail in the decor and design. So while you're picking out that perfect souvenir make sure you take a few minutes and look at the buildings, the signs, and the details in the shops.
