Several Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Make Conde Nast Readers’ Choice List

Several Walt Disney World Resort hotels were listed as some of the best hotels in Florida in the 2015 Conde Nast Readers' Choice Awards. The survey included responses from more than 128,000 travelers and results were based on ratings and comments.

Hotel Occupancy at Disney Resorts Reached 89 Percent in First Quarter

During its fiscal first quarter The Walt Disney Company has seen its domestic hotel occupancy spike to 89 percent, compared to 81 percent for the same time last year. The report took into account room occupancy at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Disneyland Resort hotels.

Eight Disney Parks Resorts Named Silver Badge Winners by U.S. News & World Report

Several of Disney's top resorts have been named Silver Badge Winners by U.S. News & World Report in their annual "best of" series.

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel came in at the top of the list of "best of" hotels in the Anaheim/Disneyland area. It ranked #1 out of 315 hotels in that area, and was #142 in Best California Hotels, and #11 in Disney Hotels and Resorts.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort Opening First Phase in May

It's good news for Disney Resort enthusiasts! Earlier this week, Disney Imagineers made the announcement that the newest resort, Disney's Art of Animation, is expected to open in phases beginning May 31, 2012.

Space Legacy Offers at the Disney Swan and Dolphin

The Disney Swan and Dolphin resorts are offering some nice deals and activities in honor of this country's space legacy.

First off, the iconic Disney hotels are putting forth a twenty percent discount on rooms for all guests with their Salute to Space package. Room rates start at $129 per night. The package also entitles guests to additional savings for National Car Rental which will enable exploration of Florida's Space Coast. The Salute to Space package is good for stays this year through December 25.

Should Disney Continue with Stand Alone Hotels?

It was announced last month that The Walt Disney Company has canceled plans to build a 500 room National Harbor resort in Washington, D.C. Disney purchased the 15 acres in May of 2009 for $11 million.

Looking to build a stand-alone Disney branded hotel, they pulled out with Disney spokeswoman Kristin Nolt Wingard stating, "Given the full slate of expansion currently underway at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the timing isn't right to proceed with another new project of this scale."
