Disney Springs Closes Early Due To Curfew And A Message From Disney Leaders

Civil unrest occurring across the nation has prompted action from Disney as Orlando and Orange County institute a curfew following nights of rioting over the death of George Floyd. Disney Springs will be closing early until further notice to allow guests and cast members the ability to make it home in time. Disney Company leadership CEO Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Bob Iger, and Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer of The Walt Disney Company Latondra Newton also released a joint statement to Cast Members regarding this time of civil unrest.

Two Restaurants Announced for Disney Springs: Morimoto Asia and The BOATHOUSE

As Downtown Disney continues its transformation into Disney Springs, two new restaurants have been announced for the area.

The first restaurant, Morimoto Asia, is from world famous celebrity Chef Masaharu Morimoto and will features dishes from all over Asia. It will be Chef Morimoto's first Pan-Asian restaurant.

Morimoto, also an Iron Chef on the Food Network, has teamed with the Patina Restaurant Group to bring Morimoto Asia to Disney Springs.

Disney Imagineers Reveal the Story Behind Disney Springs

Disney Springs isn't just a lengthy expansion project that is transforming Downtown Disney into something new.

As with all great Disney attractions, Disney Imagineers have developed a storyline for Disney Springs and it begins back in the mid-1800s.

The story is that a small settlement started near the natural springs and eventually that settlement grew into a small town. The Imagineers see the storyline as way to tell about the history of Florida in addition to Disney history.

Marketplace Co-Op Boutique Stores Now Open at Downtown Disney

We've been talking about the Marketplace Co-Op that's part of the Disney Springs expansion for quite awhile now, and I'm happy to announce that it's final open! Located right next to Tren-D, the Marketplace Co-Op will offer six different boutiques where guests can find a variety of unique, authentic and original merchandise developed to reflect the signature style of Disney Parks.
