Catch Irish Band Na Fianna at Raglan Road

Fans of Irish music, take note. Now through October 1, Na Fianna will be playing nearly every evening at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney.

Some of you out there might be asking who exactly is Na Fianna. Turns out, the band is pretty popular in Ireland and came in second on a televised competition called "All-Ireland Talent Show."

Na Fianna is described as a "four-piece traditional/ballad group performs music that's enhanced by mandolin, accordion, guitar and bodhran."

Catch the Irish band at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Raglan Road.

Downtown Disney Restaurants Offer Cooking Demos During Food & Wine Fest

Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival is gearing up to start later this month, and a few Downtown Disney restaurants are planning cooking demonstrations to coincide with the popular event.

First off, Fulton's Crab House will be giving a tutorial on pan-searing wild Alaska king salmon at 1 p.m. October 1. The restaurant also will be offering a signature dinner November 2 at 7 p.m. that will cost $150 per guest.

"Crossroads at House of Blues" Debuts at Downtown Disney Anaheim

It's been a staple in the Downtown Disney restaurant scene for some time now, and now the House of Blues has some new fare to offer guests. Earlier this week, a menu designed by celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez called "Crossroads at House of Blues" debuted.

The addition to the House of Blues' menu takes some inspiration from all parts of the world and offers new dishes like shrimp and grits, chile braised short ribs, hand stretched grilled flatbeds and street tacos. The new items appear along side updated restaurant signature dishes and old favorites.

New Botique Now Open in Downtown Disney

For those of you who love to shop 'til you drop when visiting Disney World, there's a new store to add to your to-do list. Apricot Lane, a trendy clothing and accessories store, opened yesterday in Downtown Disney.

The trendy botique looks to offer mothers and daughters a place to find the latest fashions and carries several "celebrity-inspired" brands such as Miss Me, Lucky Brand, Vintage Havana and Chaser. Shoppers can also browse the store for unique and trendy gifts.

Mark Your Calendars Now for "Halfway to Paddy Day"

Heading to Walt Disney World in September? You might want to mark your calendars now for Saturday, September 17. While it may seem like any other ordinary Saturday, Raglan Road in Downtown Disney will be celebrating the halfway mark to St. Patrick's Day with a party.

Live music, Irish dancing, competitions and giveaways highlight Ragland Road's "Halfway to Paddy Day" party. The event is set to kick off at 5 p.m. with a traditional Irish ballad band followed by the Ragland Road dancers. Also on tap is the U2 tribute band Elevation.

Party in Downtown Disney Today with Verizon and Radio Disney

If you're in the Walt Disney World area and are looking for something (else!) to do that's free and family friendly, then you might want to check out Downtown Disney today. Verizon and Radio Disney are teaming up to host a party at DD's Waterside Stage from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Downtown Disney's Hyperion Wharf Construction Delayed

Just a year-and-a-half after plans for it were announced, construction on Disney's Hyperion Wharf has come to a halt. Work on the dining and shopping area that was to replace the long-shuttered Pleasure Island is now delayed indefinitely as Disney "pauses" to evaluate their "master plan."

Disney Sued For Negligence In Water Craft Collision

An English woman has sued Disney for negligence following the crash of her rented watercraft with a ferry.

Both Michael and Barbara Wormald were in a "Sea Raycer" two-seater watercraft rented from Cap'n Jack's Marina in Downtown Disney when it collided with a ferry. Mr. Wormald was driving the watercraft at the time of the incident, and Mrs. Wormald, the passenger, sustained a collapsed lung and fractured ribs as a result of the collision.

World of Disney Summer Sale for Passholders

Are you a Walt Disney World passholder? Then get ready for a summer, Disney version of Black Friday. The World of Disney Store, located in the Downtown Disney area, is holding a large sale June 23. Sale-goers can expect reductions of up to seventy-five percent off select merchadise at the store.

Those passholders interested in attending the sale will need to set their alarm clocks as the sale starts at 6:30 a.m., running through 9 a.m. In addition to the huge sale, special doorbusters and mystery markdowns are also promised.

AMC Dine-In Theater Experience Coming to Downtown Disney Next Week

Dinner and a movie: it's the perfect combo. Starting next Monday, the AMC Theater in Downtown Disney is gearing up to offer in-theater dining to movie-goers.

Six of the theater's auditoriums will be equipped with the new dining option. Guests will be able to watch a current flick while enjoying a meal. The theater's dine-in option gives guests reserved seats complete with a table top for dining as well as a call button for personalized service to those seats.

Florida Resident "La Nouba" Discount

If you're a Florida resident and want to see Cique Du Soleil's "La Nouba" show in Downtown Disney, now is your chance! Between now and October 23 Disney will be offering category two seats for $50, with a limit of six tickets per purchase. But the discounts don't stop there. Florida residents are also eligible for an additional 15 % discount in the "La Nouba" boutique located on the plaza level of the theater.
