Disneyland Resort is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and fans of the resort have a chance to bid on more than 1,000 original collectibles at the end of this month. The items headed to the auction block include cast member costumes, tickets, blueprints from the park, and even a skeleton from the original Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

The first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for this season is November 7 and this year the annual holiday event includes some Frozen magic and a new character meet-and-greet.

Country Bear Jamboree Gets a Slight Revamp

The Country Bear Jamboree, that Frontierland staple, has recently reopened after being closed for refurbishment; it's received its first updates since it first opened back in the early '70s.

First up, those heading out to take in the show might appreciate the new benches, curains and backdrops. The bears, too, have also be given a makeover, receiving new fur and clothes. In addition, Disney Imagineers have reworked the show itself a little bit, cutting some of the dialogue and music and shortening the overall presentation by about five minutes.

Grab a Quick Snack at the Magic Kingdom’s Golden Oak Outpost

If you're traveling from Adventureland to Frontierland and you're feeling a bit hungry but you don't want to deal with crowds at Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, we suggest stopping by the Golden Oak Outpost. This quick serve kiosk is located across from Pecos Bill's and if you're lucky enough to find it open, you're sure to find something good to eat.

24-Hour Party at the Magic Kingdom Kicks Off ‘Coolest Summer Ever’ on May 22

This summer is going to be the 'Coolest Summer Ever' at the Walt Disney World Resort, and to kick off the season there's a 24-hour party at the Magic Kingdom on May 22-23. The party will include the regular Magic Kingdom attractions plus extra entertainment, dance parties, special merchandise, and guests in costume showing off their Disney Side.

Disney History: Frontierland Then & Now

Frontierland is rooted in history and as such, rarely sees the sort of reimagining that happens elsewhere at Walt Disney World; however, even on the frontier, a little bit of "sprucing up" is in order now and then. A few fan favorites would fall victim to budgetary constraints along the way, but an uncharted expanse of frontier territory would eventually give rise to two of the Magic Kingdom's most beloved attractions.

The Magic Kingdom's Festival of Fantasy Parade

Over the years I haven't been known to be much of a parade fan. However, on my last trip to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom I was absolutely blown away by my first viewing of the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. Just a little over a year old (it debuted February 10th, 2014) this is a production on a grand scale and kicks off in the afternoon to continue the Disney tradition of classic parades in the Magic Kingdom.

The Top 10 Things We Love Most about the Magic Kingdom

For many people when they hear the words "I'm going to Disney World" the first image that comes to mind is Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom. As the original theme park at Walt Disney World Resort the Magic Kingdom is pretty much synonymous with the words 'Walt Disney World.'

Grab a Good Meal at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe at the Magic Kingdom

When you're looking for a good place to rest your weary feet and grab a quick bite to eat at the Magic Kingdom, head over to the intersection between Adventureland and Frontierland and stop at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.

Of course the regulars just call it Pecos Bill's and one of our favorite things about the quick service location is the themeing and decor. Depending on which entrance you use you will either see the "Wild West" signage in Frontierland or the Caribbean-style sign from the Adventureland entrance.

Rides That Never Were: Walt Disney World - Western River Expedition

As Walt Disney World park guests pass hurriedly through Frontierland to join the queue lines for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder, many will be blissfully unaware of the history attached to this corner of the park. A conceived but unrealized attraction, Disney's Western River Expedition & Thunder Mesa have now become something of a legend amongst Disney Imagineers and officiandos.

Limited Time Magic: Week 44

The ghostly goings on for Halloween week at Magic Kingdom are some of my favorite all year long. This week only you can be entertained by the spooky song stylings of the Cadaver Dans as they haunt Frontierland. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, head to the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon to enjoy the re-styled "The Happy Haunted Horseshoe." This special Limited Time Magic is fleeting though, so be sure to attend while the veil is thin.

Sparkling lights and Electro-synthe-magnetic Musical Sounds: The Main Street Electrical Parade

I've seen a lot of parades in my years of being a Disney traveler and I must admit that one of my true favorites is the Main Street Electrical Parade. I loved it as a child and I am so very happy that in 2010 it returned to Walt Disney World for a third run.

Explore Days Gone By On Tom Sawyer Island

Sitting across the Rivers of America lies what could be one of the most overlooked attractions in the Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer Island. It opened in 1973 and has stood the test of time. To get there, guests must take one of four a jaunty rafts named Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, Injun Joe, or Huck Finn. They run from a dock nestled on the riverbank in Frontierland across to the island where on Tom's Landing the ageless adventure begins.
