Jungle Cruise to be Transformed into the Jingle Cruise for the Holidays

The Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise is once again getting a holiday makeover.

Last year marked the first time the popular attraction went through a holiday transformation. This year, starting in November, the Jungle Cruise will become the "Jingle Cruise" for the winter holiday season.

The Jungle Cruise boats will be renamed with holiday-themed names, the queue and the boathouse will be transformed with holiday decorations, and the Skipper's jokes will take on a holiday theme as well.

New Year’s Eve Wasn’t So Magical for Some Guests at the Magic Kingdom

The holidays are always a busy time at the Walt Disney World Resort, and New Year's Eve 2013 was no exception.

The Magic Kingdom reached capacity early Tuesday morning and was at a Phase 3 closing by about 11 a.m.

A Phase 3 park closing means admission to the park is limited to Disney Resort guests, Annual, Premier, and Premium Passholders, guests with dining reservations, and guests who have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirates League reservations.

Jungle Cruise Getting Holiday Makeover as the Jingle Cruise

For the first time ever, The Jungle Cruise is getting a holiday transformation into the Jingle Cruise just in time for the holidays.

Disney says the transformation is happening because the Jungle Cruise skippers are homesick for the holidays and they decided it was time to add holiday cheer to the queue and boathouse using decorations mailed from home. The Skippers are also getting crafty and have created some homemade decorations.

Disney World’s Candlelight Processional Dining Packages on Sale Now

The Candlelight Processional Dining Packages for 2013 are now on sale!

Presented this year from November 29 through December 31, the Candlelight Processional is performed three times each night (5 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8:15 p.m.), and includes the telling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator who is accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra, and a choir of Disney cast members and special guests.

The theme of our recent Thanksgiving week family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort was "try new things." It started back in 1986 when a little girl named Breezy asked her Dad if they could string a few Christmas lights at their Little Rock, Arkansas home. That display grew and grew each year until 1995, when the display was shut down by court order. After national attention was brought to the case, the Walt Disney Company stepped in and offered up residential street on the Studios Backlot Tour where it was an instant hit. Eventually, as the focus of the Backlot Tour changed the holiday lights were moved to the Streets of America.
