Disney recently announced a new cloud-based digital movie service that gives fans the ability to purchase, manage, and watch movies from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel at home and on the go.

Disney Movies Anywhere is available on the web and as an app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

The Walt Disney Company is launching a mentorship and investment programs for startup companies.

Michael Douglas to Star as Hank Pym in Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’

Two-time Academy Award winning actor Michael Douglas has signed on to play scientist Hank Pym in Marvel's Ant-Man.

The movie hits theaters in July 2015, and also stars Paul Rudd and will be directed by Edgar White.

In the comics, Hank Pym first appeared in the 'Tales to Astonish' #27 issue in 1962, and was the creator of the technology to shrink a human being to the size of an insect becoming Ant-Man. Rudd stars as Scott Lang who is the alter-ego of Ant-Man.

Walt Disney Studios Announces Slate of 2014 Movie Release Dates

Last year was a successful year at the box office for The Walt Disney Studios, and now it's time to get ready for a whole new slate of movies.

The first movie from the Mouse House arrives February 28 when The Wind Rises is released by Touchstone Pictures.

The movies features the voice talents of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Martin Short, John Krasinski, Jennifer Grey, Stanley Tucci, and was director Hayao Miyazaki's final film.

Disney Stocks End 2013 at All-Time Record High

The Walt Disney Company ended 2013 with shares of the company's stock trading at record levels.

In the past year, Disney's stock has gained more than 51 percent over the previous year. On December 30, 2013 shares rose more than 2.5 percent in early trading and by mid-day it was close to $76.29.

Filming Begins on Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America is slated to save the world once again in 2014. Production on Captain America: The Winter Soldier started this week in Los Angeles, according to an announcement by Disney. Filming will also happen later this year in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington D.C.

Disney Being Sued by Stan Lee Media

Recently, Stan Lee Media has filed a suit against the Walt Disney Co. seeking "billions of dollars of profit" while claiming they own the rights to Marvel characters such as Iron Man and Spider Man.

Stan Lee, creator of many of the popular Marvel characters, no longer is associated with Stan Lee Media. That company says Lee gave it the rights to the characters back in 1998, but then assigned the same rights to Marvel about a month later.

Monorail To Get Marvel Makeover

Earlier in March, we reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger had revealed plans to incorporate Marvel characters into Disney parks in the future. We now know there is at least one solid plan to feature some these characters in Walt Disney World.

Disney recently announced plans to wrap one of Walt Disney World's monorail trains with an "Avengers" theme. Look for the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow to be featured on the monorail train.

Marvel Characters Coming To A Park Near You?

Spiderman and Captain America alongside Mickey and Minnie at Magic Kingdom? Though it might sound a little farfetched, it looks like Disney has some plans in the works to incorporate Marvel comic characters into its theme parks.

Rumors on the subject have been around since Disney acquired Marvel in 2009, and to date, the only such Marvel characters to be found in the parks are on merchandise. According to President and CEO Bob Iger at Disney's annual shareholders meeting last Tuesday, Disney is working on some ideas to bring the characters into the parks and attractions.
