Disney’s Animal Kingdom Debuts Gardens Kiosk for Guests with Food Allergies and Other Dietary Restrictions

When you have a serious food allergy or dietary restrictions, a visit to a theme park can often lead to frustration and uncertainty about food safety. But Disney is working to make dining out with food allergies easier for guests.

Disney's Animal Kingdom recently opened a kiosk to help guests with food allergies, intolerances, and other issues. The kiosk - called Gardens - is located on Discovery Island adjacent to Adventures Outpost.

Food News In and Around Walt Disney World

Food at Disney World is an attraction in and of itself for many guests; here are some food news tidbits from around WDW.

First up are snacks. It looks like fans of the sweet cream cheese-filled pretzel can now get their fix at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The pretzels can be found on the Streets of America at the Pretzel Garden. Next, guests can use a Disney Dining Plan snack credit (or pay $3.19) to grab a Citrus Swirl. This sweet twist of vanilla soft-serve ice cream and frozen orange juice can be found in the Magic Kigndom's Sunshine Tree Terrace.

The New Harambe Market At Disney's Animal Kingdom

I'm always excited to hear about new dining coming anywhere in Walt Disney World, but fun new food to try in the Theme Parks always make me exceptionally giddy. A brand new themed food court has opened in one of my favorite sections of Disney's Animal Kingdom. To me, the Harambe Village often feels like the living breathing heart of Disney's Animal Kingdom. It oozes community, with music and drumming, the theater and restaurants, artisans carving their wares in booths. Now added to this bustling area of the Park is the Harambe Market.

Cupcakes Channel The Force At Star Wars Weekends

Disney's wonderfully themed cupcakes have become a highlight of seasonal celebrations all year long. Star Wars Weekends is no different, and Guests can look forward to channeling their sweet side with small cakes with the force of light or dark. Enjoy a Citrus Swirl at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in the Magic Kingdom

Imagine the scene: it's a hot and steamy summer day at the Magic Kingdom and it feels like the soles of your shoes are melting into the pavement. You're wishing you had your own Olaf-style personal flurry to keep cool. And then you see it, an oasis off as you enter Adventureland. The Sunshine Tree Terrace, home of the famous Citrus Swirl.

Spiced Bacon Popcorn Crunch At Fort Wilderness

I love Popcorn! And March 12th, 2015 is National Popcorn Day, so why not celebrate with a look at one of our favorite Disney Popcorn Treats. Located at an unassuming little cart across the path from Pioneer Hall in Disney's Ft. Wilderness Resort, Spiced Bacon Popcorn Crunch caught my eye one evening while heading to the Hoop-Dee-Doo. With a good half hour before the show, I figured a little appetizer could hold us over to until the show.

Left-over Snack Credits Are Great For Snacky Souvenirs

I love the Deluxe Disney Plan; however frequently on the last day of my Walt Disney World vacations I find myself standing in the hotel lobby wondering what to do with a handful of leftover snack credits. This dilemma has given way to one of my family's Disney traditions, the snack haul. Unwilling to let those extra credits go to waste I head to the hotel gift shop just before I have to hop on the Magical Express and spend them on delicious pre-packaged snacks for the folks back home.

Bringing Food into Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Even if you aren't traveling to the Walt Disney World theme parks with a baby who needs baby food, you might consider bringing your own food into the parks.

This decision might be due to the fact that you want to save money or snack credits or maybe someone in your traveling party has food allergies and they need their own food. Or maybe you don't want to spend the money on bottle water.

No matter the reason, guests often wonder if bringing food into the Disney World theme parks is allowed and the simple answer is yes.

Fabulous Spots To Snack in Epcot

Walt Disney World's Epcot Theme Park is know far and wide for its stellar food and beverage choices. With dozens of snacking and dining locations that represent a board variety of world flavors one could easily make the argument that this Park runs on food. Whenever my family heads to Epcot, we don't often make reservations, instead we celebrate a tradition of simply snacking our way through the Park. Everyone has their own favorite stops, but I thought I would share my three favorites with you.

I love cupcakes! And the Walt Disney World Resort has some of the most magnificent ones that I have ever tasted; like the Butterfinger Cupcake and the King Cupcake. You can even find specialty cupcakes at restaurants and bakeries all over property, and during the winter season some of them even take on a magical holiday flair.
