How is everyone doing with the protests going on right now? Looting hit fairly close to our home (about a half mile away) last night but we are all doing good.

Sending lots of health and love to everyone today!

If the order is still in place, there's no reason I can't work from there for 2 weeks before my trip. I believe the order is currently in place until 07/07. If it gets extended again, I have the work from Florida option to consider.

I love love love your creative solution to this dilemma!

I have already scoped out a couple of places to stay.

We are still in the Stay at Home orders. We are expected to take the first steps in reopening on Friday. Unfortunately, nail and hair salons are not included in what can open. We are both still working so we are great full for that.

As far as the protesting goes, our local police have pretty much their full force on overnight. That is more to be able to assist neighboring townships than the real thought of needing them here. We do not have much retail business in our township. Of corse we do have a few CVS,s and a Walgreens but they are stand alone buildings. We have a few strip malls but even most of them are small.

Right now we are trying to decide whether or not to keep our July Disney trip. This was to be our family trip. But, both of the kids have decided not to go at this time. Our reservations are for July 5-11. So we would be there the week before the parks open. Not really sure when we will make our final decision.

We have had protests in the UK as support as well. I agree with the protests but not the looting, not what this should be about. The video that came out today of the police pushing the 75 year old man over was bad and quite shocking. When we lived in London a few years back there was rioting and looting south of the river nowhere near us but it was still scary.

Stay safe x

My cats have become my work colleagues. One tries to play with the mouse and the other lies across the keyboard, I try typing round her but cat fur goes everywhere.

Scrappy I hear you re hair salons, my hair (was) purple, pink and orange it is now white/silver purple and pink!

G company are now saying that his team might be one of the last to go back the beginning of next year Shock

We reached double digits this week, normally I would celebrate but this time murgh

Wow, I haven't been on here in awhile! We are doing good, still working of course and we've both been rather busy luckily.

Not sure of the last time I posted but my Pop passed away. We did not go to Alabama because we were still in the tick of the COVID scare and they weren't allowed to have a big funeral. I did get to watch it on Facebook Live as the funeral home was doing it for all of the funerals at this time.

We've had a massive termite infestation and currently getting the house sprayed and will go into major construction here soon...

It's just been one thing after another for us and I am over it. sad

We did go to the mountains for a long weekend. We had a cabin in Pigeon Forge and we spent our time looking a new set of 4 walls laugh we did get out and go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. WOW, was it beautiful. It was a gorgeous day and great to be out in the sunshine.

We are going to the Georgia mountains in a couple of days for another little break.

Blondie is with her dad until after Father's Day. I am SO HAPPY homeschool is over.

I have a girls trip to the North Carolina mountains booked for the first weekend of August. 6 of us from work are going. We have hiking, apple picking, farmers markets and wineries on the agenda!

Other than that, we are all doing well. Hope you all are too!

Things are slowly reopening in Illinois and it's nice to have a few more options of things to do. For the most part though my family is still avoiding crowds and waiting for the next wave of this pandemic to rear its ugly head. I'm doing so-so. It's hard for me to be upbeat right now with so many crazy things going on in the world. I'm even having a really hard time thinking about returning to Disney.

Tori and I have reservations and plane tickets for September, but we don't have Park tickets so that is up in the air for us. Usually I wouldn't mind not having Park Tickets but so many of the hotel services that make magic are being stripped back I'm iffy on even wanting to go. Who knows what else is going to happen over the next two months though, prhaps by September more services will have reopened. It's a crazy crazy world right now.

Terralina reopened at Disney Springs they have not been recalling all of their employees so Katie got a job out in town, same amount of money, shorter commute, less stress, more opportunity for advancement. She is in the process from moving from Claremont to Sanford to move in with her boyfriend, so she took a cook job at a Red Robin up there. She is most excited about getting to be able to dye her hair purple again. It really bothered her having to have her natural hair color. The restaurant world can be pretty eccentric and they don't have that opportunity for self expression at Disney.

I hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone taken up any new hobbies over the last few months? I learned how to mend clothes with a Japanese embroidery technique that I'm having fun with.

Hello all! I hope everyone is doing well!

JMed, sorry to hear about losing your Pop. I know, these times are hard. We lost my Father on June 1, just a few hours after Scrappy made her last post. I had only seen him once since this whole COVID crap started. Luckily it was just a few days before he passed and I was able to tell him I loved him and he didn't have to fight anymore. He had Parkinson's for about 5 years now and it had gotten to the point we had to put him in a long term health care center because he kept falling and didn't remember his wife or me much of the time and that was increasingly getting worse. He went peacefully in his sleep though. We will probably have a service for him at a later date and spread his ashes on the property he had in the mountains of PA.

We are booked for Disney at the Poly July 5 -11, but depending on the COVID numbers in Florida which are right now the highest ever, that might change. I just got an email from a cast member friend who says it is really bad down there! She did say if we stayed in the Disney Bubble, we would probably be fine but not to go anywhere outside of the bubble.

We ordered some of those Disney Face coverings from Disney and received our first pack today which are medium size and I can't even get them on and they are tight on Scrappy's ears. We bought them for the granddaughters anyway so they should fit them. We have 3 orders of the large ones coming, so they should fit adults pretty well.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your Dads Jennifer and Mark.

Mark when I saw the masks (before properly reading the post) I thought Wow Judy has been busy, she should sell them.

We are 95% certain we are cancelling the trip. I am going through the motion of still planning but it is all but over. We are holding on to see what will happen with our flight but our flight home has already been moved to earlier and there are quite strong rumors that nothing is going from our local airport until next year. For us it would mean an additional 5hrs drive which we won't do. Rumor is they will make an announcement tomorrow and we are hoping we will know one way or another. We are sad but also feel happy that we got the long trip in at the beginning of the year. We feel incredibly lucky that we have done the backstage tours, eaten at the restaurants that we wanted to and have had the "Disney Magic" as it was before all the changes to all our lives happened. Heck not many people can say Chef's table twice!

On a slightly lighter note check out the dinner menu for Boathouse. Someone has missed the spelling error you can have
Maine Lobster Tail Oscar
8 oz Tail, Asparagus, Jumbo Lump crap,Bearnaise Sauce, Parsley Potatoes

$49.50

Yum

I've been hanging in there. I go back to work next week and I am extremely nervous because I am not sure what I am walking into. Luckily it'll be just be cast members around for a couple weeks before we open to the public. Cast members will have previews before the parks open but we're not sure how they'll work with our schedules. I took my parents to Gatorland for father's day and we had a great time. I splurged for the grunt package which included unlimited train rides, gator chow and meet-a-gator. We felt very safe, they took the extra effort to clean the train and show seating between guests. They also had markings on the ground everywhere to help keep people apart. They had plenty of hand sanitizer and sinks everywhere. At the two shows, every other bench was marked off with red tape and no one could sit on the red tape benches. On the train, they placed families every other seat as well.

My only hobby has been Scentsy laugh I have been my best customer. I had earned the Shooting Star Award and I just earned Scentsational Start Level 1. I guess that's not really a hobby but it's the only new thing I've got going on. I have been trying to get through the books I got. I also have been binging a lot of shows.

I can't wait until next week when Hamilton gets released on Disneyplus and people were getting angry two of the three f bombs were censored.

Glad to hear you are staying safe Mandy! We just cancelled our trip for July 4-11 at the Poly last night. We just couldn't deal with the Covid numbers that are going on in Florida right now and having to worry about the drive down and back. We were also thinking our Governor may go the way of NJ, NY & CT and mandate that people coming back from all the southern states would have to quarantine for 14 days after we get back, don't want to deal with that and my job!

I've been venturing out on the weekends, mostly local wineries. I did go to the zoo on Sunday. They are only allowing entry by reservation (2 entry times = 9:00 - noon and 1:00 - 4:00). They have the zoo traffic going one direction and require masks. They had signs posted reminding people to social distance. I think they could have done a better job of marking spaces for people to stand while looking at exhibits. I tried my best to keep my distance. Not everyone offered the same courtesy.

This weekend I am going to a local amusement park to pick up my season pass. They aren't opening until July 06 but have passholder only days July 01-05. I am going July 03.

As mentioned before, we are not required to go back to the office until January We will be able to go back in September if we want to. They are still working on the exact date and the protocol.

Thank you Mr. Hub! Yea that sounds like a good idea considering we had around 9,000 new cases of covid in just one day and there are no signs of it going down. Also not much will be open for that time frame anyway.

Glad you are OK Mandy. We are worried about the rise in cases in Florida and stay safe to you and your family. It is still flux here as to whether we are coming. Virgin have now pushed the flights to 24 August start up but subject to CDC approval. Realised that is only 18 days before we fly.

I have bought cloth face masks much more comfy

Thank you Sally-Ann! I have been staying in my apartment as much as possible with only going out for groceries until recently where I went out to Gatorland with my parents but we felt completely safe and were constantly cleaning our hands. We also went out to Cheddar's to for dinner and we felt completely safe there as well.

How is everyone doing? While I'm happy that vaccines are finally getting shipped out and the process of inoculating people can begin, I think we still have a long way to go in getting this virus under control and getting back on track again. I'm not even sure I remember what "normal" is at this point. I've been struggling with keeping my chin up, and stay home all week except for an early morning grocery run on Saturdays.

There are some new habits that my family has that I'm really enjoying. We have become much more creative in the kitchen. When we have excess food stuff we've been preserving it and creating things at home that we used to buy at the store. For instance my husband has been pickling things, and learned how to make awesome apple sauce in his instapot, as well as baking our own bread. We're just cooking from scratch a lot more and I like it a lot.

My son and his fiancee came down with covid the week of Thanksgiving. My son didn't have it too bad, but my future daughter in-law was pretty miserable, though managed to stay out of the hospital. Then on Thanksgiving night their (25 year old) roommate died. The autopsy wasn't conclusive, but the whole group of them living in the house have just been devastated.

Katie is struggling down in Florida. She hates that everything is open and operating like normal. She isn't sure she wants to hang around and wait for Space 220 to open and may be moving back home. I'm heartbroken for her because we're 100% sure her life would be different right now if it hadn't been for the pandemic. She was pretty happy working at Disney Springs and when everything closed and she moved to Sanford it just altered the course of it all. On the bright side, Illinois has restrictions in place regarding service due to health and safety right now. She already has a job waiting for her if she comes back.

What has been going on with you all? How are you coping?

I have been working a lot, mostly just extending my shifts and not working extra days. I mostly stay in my room in my apartment but I have gotten out to the Disney parks every so often for some fun. I have my streaming services and stuffed animals as my comfort items. We have a few extra guests staying in my apartment right now and it has been fine because I get to bond with the animals. Thanks to me working the extra hours, I have not needed to drive with Lyft which is the end goal since I am leasing the car. Scentsy has been a little bit of a help as well.

Work has been going well. I've been really busy so it makes the days go by fast. Yesterday, I got some sad news (although I was expecting it). Our family reunion in August has been canceled. We've been having the reunion for 50 years and this will only be the second time we've canceled. The first was due to a death in the family.

I have been trying to support the local theater in my town. Before, things got bad, I saw Murder on the Orient Express. I bought tickets for two more shows this year (the productions are from two different theater companies). The first show was The Producers in April. The show was postponed until September (I expect it to be completely canceled). The second show is Beauty and The Beast in November. The theater company putting on Beauty and The Beast canceled all shows for the rest of the year.

just going through these posts from the past year. This year's reunion was also canceled. While things are opening back up, still too many restrictions to have the event as we normally do.

The local theater company is starting to put on shows again with limited capacity outdoors. It's a start.

I'm still working from home. They changed the return to office date to July and then changed it again until mid September. As I understand it, they will give everyone the option to return full time, work from home full time or hybrid. I am going to the hybrid. I am thinking 3 days in and 2 from home (haven't decided yet).

Is Katie still planning on working at Space 220? I saw an article today that they are hiring (not sure how accurate the information is).
