Reviving an old thread here...

I've done this three times now (twice on our last trip) and can highly recommend it. The food is great and you get really close to the whales. They normally used Tilica, an adult male 22' long and 12,000lbs. Booking in advance is a good idea although we once managed to get a last minute place on the day.

Other threads ask about the Kraken and the Manta coasters. I have ridden both. The Kraken is a typical inverted coaster and an easy ride if you enjoy Disney's coasters. The Manta has theming that's almost up to Disney standards in the queueing area, passing through tanks full of ray's. The ride itself is unique in Orlando with it's 'flying' riding position which feels quite natural once things get going and after the first really tight loop is pretty gentle.

Tony, you guys have done all the cool stuff in Orlando!

Is the Manta "flying" like the Six Flags' Superman Coasters?

We've spent as much time out of Disney as we have in it. Us Brit's having longer average stays helps, two weeks of just Disney may overload the magic.
It's a bit like going to an all inclusive beach resort and never stepping outside the gate, that suits some people and I'd never critisize them for it, but we prefer to know what else is out there.

Never been to 6 flags so don't know the answer to that one. Does this pic help?

That looks similar to the Superman that I've ridden.
