Yes they are in the pool with you. I think as far as I'm aware those types of ray arent the ones that sting, they have the sting bit removed Smile

I love your trip reports! You always have such a positive outlook on everything. Even when you have things to complain about you never focus on it. Honestly it is so refreshing.

I also really appreciate your dollar amounts being included. My husband and I are pretty frugal (we have had to be as we are trying to save up for a trip to disney world) We in the Midwest and it is amazing how prices differ from one chain to another just based on their geographical location.

Please keep going with your amazing trip report...you two make the most adorable couple!

Thank you so much for your comments, it really means a lot to me. Obviously i like writing the report (or i wouldnt do it) but i get such happiness knowing that other people enjoy reading them and it gives other ideas of things to do (that they wouldnt normally do).

As for not focusing on the down parts, lets face it, its still orlando, it can never be THAT bad Wink

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 6, Merrit Island Nature Reserve

After a relaxing but tiring day yesterday at DC we're taking it easy today with a trip to Merrit Island Nature reserve over by KSC. Last year when Sy, Anne and Cliff went to KSC they drove a little way through the reserve and so wanted to go back to explore it more & to see the wild animals Smile

We got up and had a leisurely breakfast in the condo before heading out in the car. It was a VERY hot day, we had the air-con up full all the way there! I didn't actually have anything for breakfast as I was having a bad day so didn't want to eat anything and then have to sit in the car for a few hours.

When we got there we headed for the nature reserve centre to get a map and some advice of where to go. Once Sy got back to the car with the maps we headed onto one of the wildlife drives. We saw lots of wild birds so Anne was really pleased, if I'm honest I didn't really enjoy this bit that much as it was an unpaved road and when I have a bad tummy ache the bumps in the road hurt. Plus it was such a hot day to be stuck in the car. I hopefully didn't let it show though Smile I was helping look for the birds, we even saw another endangered bird " it was pink but not a flamingo lol. We then went on another drive to hopefully see a few wild alligators, this road must have been 5 miles or so long, and again unpaved but this time so much worst, it was all holes in the road Sad so I was very uncomfortable, and we didn't see any gators! Ah well...

After that we went to look for wild manatee. We went to the viewing area but there weren't any there, luckily though Sy was told in the reserve centre that they sometimes go somewhere else, so we went to check it out and there must have been at least a dozen of them there!

Here are a few pictures of them...

After seeing them we went for a drive to Cocoa Beach as we'd never been there before. On the road leaving the reserve there was something crossing, it was very strange, it looked like a strange dog, or an alligator on stilts... as we got closer we realized it was in fact an alligator! We didn't realize they could stand on their legs like that! I took 2 pictures, hopefully you can see them in these pictures " I took them fron inside the car as we were driving...

It was lovely having a drive round there, we only got out of the car for about 5 mins to go on the beach and have a little wander, but it was so hot we couldn't bare to be out of the air-conditioned car for longer than that!

While driving around we got me a taco bell as I was starting to feel sick where I hadn't eaten, it was definitely not the right thing that I should have been eating but it was all we could find. It didn't make me feel any worse than I already felt, that's the main thing. (cost $7).

We then headed home as we were meeting a work friend of Simon and Cliff for dinner in Tony Roma's. We stopped to put petrol in on the way ($30 total, $15 each).

Once we got back to the Condo we quickly showered and changed as we were going to be late to meet Gary and his wife (who's name escapes me!). They got there only a little bit before us and got a table just as we arrived. Anne has met them a few times but I hadn't met them before. They were lovely Smile I ended up sitting next to Gary and we talked about our shared love of Florida (he has been many times before too), he was out there looking at villas to buy which was pretty exciting, he did decide after coming home though that he was going to wait a couple of years more before buying. Must remember to stay good friends with him Wink

Dinner was lovely and we had a lovely waitress called Michelle that stood and talked with us for a long time. She had moved from California to Florida with her husband and 2 babies as they couldn't afford to buy a place over there and it was much cheaper to live in Orlando. We all had a cocktail each (other than me cause of tummy) and at least another drink each and it cost $75 per couple including tip. We said goodbye outside and got back in the car to make our way back to the condo.

Total spends for the day $97

Tomorrow EPCOT!

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 7, EPCOT!! WOO!

How did I manage to day 7 before making it to Disney??? I asked myself this very question when making the plan before we left the UK, and I can honestly say I will NEVER be doing it again LOL. After yesterday (Merrit Island) I was starting to feel a little down in the dumps this holiday, too little Disney and too many other things. Things worked out this way due to US holidays etc so this was the only logical plan (on paper!) that I could come up with. I won't be planning Disney so late ever again.

As this was the only Disney day Anne and Cliff were doing we were up fairly early to get a full day at the park. We got there and posed for some Photopass pics...

We then went straight for Spaceship Earth Laughing out loud always the first ride when we get to EPCOT. We then go on Test Track and get a picture...

By now it's heading towards lunchtime so we decide to go over to Soarin' and then get some lunch inside. Anne and I have Caesar Salad while Simon has Chinese and Cliff has a kids Mac and Cheese teehee! (lunch cost $37 total so $18.50 per couple). After lunch we go on Living with the land, I love this ride, I think its very underrated, there's never a queue though which is great. On our way round we see a tour group going round so when we get off we go to ask more about it. It was a 'behind the seeds' tour. The tour looks really interesting and Anne would like to do it next time, but as we have limited time today, we decide not to do it.

By this time its POURING with rain so we go for a wander around innoventions, we then go on a show that takes you through a storm and how to protect your house, I don't remember what it's called but it was erm, a little dull lol. It's still raining outside so we go on Captain EO and go on Journey to Imagination. I don't remember jumping before, but I jumped out of my skin at the end! The rain holds off for a little while so we make our way to wander around World Showcase. In England we manage to get a photo with Tigger and Pooh while the guys watch the band outside...

We then go to France for the most amazing patisserie there is! ($30!) We end up eating so many pastries that really we're too full for our ADR at Via Napoli. We did go to the ADR though as we love authentic pizza and loved our visit last year. Our waiter was lovely, Anne speaks Italian and has been to Italy a few times and knew where he used to live. We talked for ages about him living and working in Disney and also in London as this was where he worked before Disney. He was lovely! Our pizza was yummy " we got one large pizza between us all. ($92 total so $46 per couple)

After dinner we went to do Test track again (yes, on a full tummy!)....

As we were leaving test track, Illuminations started but as we had already seen them a few days before we decided to head for the exit before the mad rush of people. We did have a quick photo with the Photopass photographer though...

On the way home we stopped at pulix for a few supplies ($40 total so $20 each)

Once we got back to the condo we watched some TV with a drink before heading to bed feeling very full still, and very tired.

Tomorrow " SeaWorld and Shopping!!

Total spends for the day
$113.50 including car parking.

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 8, SeaWorld & Shopping!

We were up and out of the condo quite late today, we had a long day at EPCOT yesterday so we were taking it easy. We decided to go to Golden Corral for breakfast as Anne and Cliff had never been to a buffet breakfast in the USA. We didn't get there till about 11am by which time it was pretty quiet. The food was good though and we would definitely go back. It was a new one that had only just opened along the 192 near Disney. We were actually there as they put out the lunch things and they looked lovely, I have never been to a buffet lunch/dinner before and I would definitely give it a go sometime Smile (breakfast cost $44 inc tip)

Straight from breakfast we went to SeaWorld. We saw the observation tower going up so we headed straight for that as we'd never done it before. We loved it, it was a few $ well spent! ($17 to be exact)

Some photos

We then went to feed the rays; (Anne and Cliff paid)

We wandered round to see the Dolphins and Manatees after that. It was a very hot day today so it was nice to view them underwater in the air-conned rooms.

We stopped for a few pic's outside

We then went to watch the Dolphin show, I don't think I could ever tire of that show! I think it has to be my favorite of them all Laughing out loud

We then decided to leave as it was getting so hot it was unbearable. We stopped for an ice-cream on the way out though which was lovely. ($8.50)

After we left we headed for the Premium outlets at the top of I-Drive. We left the boys at a bar (Cliff doesn't do shopping!!) whilst we went for a bit of a wander round. We didn't go to too many shops but managed a quick stop in the Yankee Candle shop to get a few bits Wink we then went back to find the boys and get a drink ($27 drinks, $40 on presents & shopping)

Once we'd finished our drinks we went back to a VERY hot car and made our way back to the condo for a shower and change, ready to go out for dinner.

As it was Anne and Cliff's last night before flying home we wanted it to be a bit special, so I don't quite know how we ended up in hooters while there was a very loud game of baseball on the big screens LOL. We did have a good meal though. ($60 total so $30 per couple)

When we had finished dinner we went back to the condo so that Anne and Cliff (or just Anne Wink ) could pack ready for leaving early the next morning. Their flight wasn't until the evening but we wanted to go to Clearwater Beach to have a boat trip and have a lovely day by the beach.

Total spends for the day;

$166.50

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 9 Clearwater & Little Toot

We were up fairly early helping Anne and Cliff finish packing and getting things ready for them to fly home tonight. Even though we didn't do much shopping, they still ended up with a lot of stuff extra than they had flown over with! We managed to get it all in their cases though. After we had some toast and cereal for breakfast we packed the car up and hit the road. We stopped for petrol on the way ($30). It took nearly 2 hours to get there and get parked, in fact we had to run to the boat as soon as we had got parked to get on the right trip. We had planned to do a day at Clearwater and a trip on Little Toot on our last trip but if you read my last trip report, things didn't go to plan with our villa and us having to villa hop for a few days meant we missed it out. Well I don't see us ever missing it out again! It was one of the best things I have ever done, in all of my life. After yesterday and seeing the dolphin show at SeaWorld to seeing them inches away from us playing in the wild, it's something that I will never forget. (Trip cost $40).

A few pictures

After our boat trip we went to Crabby Bill's for some lunch. As I don't eat seafood I was a little worried that the place would smell like fish and all of the food taste like fish, well I was very wrong! We all had one of the best meals of the whole holiday here. Simon had mahi mahi taco's that he said were one of the best things he'd ever eaten, I had a chicken burger which was perfectly cooked and gorgeous, I cant remember what Anne and Cliff had but they both loved their meals too. ($48)

Once we'd finished we went for a walk on the beach, well that was the idea but it was so hot we could bared stand the heat so soon we went back to the car and made our way to the airport to drop off Anne and Cliff.

The night before Anne had upgraded their return flights to Premium Economy (or BA's version that I cant remember what they call it). So they checked in at the special desk and we then made our way with them to the train to the gate. We shed a few tears as we said goodbye and swore that next year if we're not staying the same amount of time that we would fly out first and then them join us and all fly home together.

Once we picked the car up from the car park we made our way back to the condo feeling very upset. We decided in the car that we would get changed and go to watch the fireworks from the beach at the Poly. So we had a little bit of time to have a shower and get ready to go. I went into the bedroom to get into the shower and I saw a car next to the bed from Anne, it was a note to say how much they enjoyed being with us and how sad they were to be going, she had also put $150 in there and said, go out somewhere nice. Well that set us both off crying again. We had over spent the first week so we were planning on eat cheaply for the next week. We sent them a text to say thank you so much but they were already in the air by this point so they didn't get it till they got home. If it were ever in any doubt what wonderful people they were, this would just go to prove otherwise.

We had a little time before we needed to go to the poly so we went down to Taco Bell to get a few bits to eat, we had a big lunch so didn't really need a big dinner so this was perfect for us. ($17)

We got ready and made our way to the Poly in plenty of time to get a Dole Whip and a cocktail ($14.50). We hadn't realized but they were showing a movie on the beach too, so we got a place and waited for it to start, it was Tangled! We had never seen it before and we loved it (in fact after we got home Piratekelly bought it for me for my birthday!). They stopped it half way through so we could watch the fireworks which were amazing, I did think they were going to play the wishes music but they didn't which was a shame but it was still wonderful.

After the film finished we stayed on the beach for a bit just lying down and chilling out. On the way out we did stop to get a picture

It was then time for bed as we had a busy day ahead of us tomorrow!

Total spends for today;
$30 for petrol (Anne and Cliff paid)
$40 Little Toot (also Anne and Cliff)
$48 Crabby Bill lunch
$17 Taco Bell
$11 Cocktails on the Beach at Poly
$3.50 Dole Whip

Total spends for the day
$149.50

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 10, DisneyQuest

We were having a fairly easy day today at DisneyQuest so we didn't rush to get up too early. Once we were up and ready though we headed out for breakfast at IHOP. It was one we hadn't visited before and we probably wouldn't go back to the same one again, it was very noisy and the tables packed tightly together. We ordered our food and the waiter forgot one of the things we had ordered and when we pointed it out to him he said 'oh but you don't really want that do you' it wasn't really a question, more of a statement so we didn't argue and just made the decision not to visit there again. (Breakfast $30 including tip)

Here is Sy inside

After breakfast I wasn't feeling too well, I was having a bad day that day anyway so I just think having a fairly big breakfast didn't help. We got to Downtown Disney and parked the car and wandered over to DisneyQuest. We first rode in a raft and paddled along " I have no idea what its called but if you've been to DisneyQuest before I'm sure you will know what I'm on about! This was actually the only thing I went on while we were here, Sy and I designed him a rollercoaster to ride but I didn't go on as I was feeling too unwell. After we did that we went up a floor and while Simon was playing PacMan I came over all funny and had to find somewhere cool to sit down quickly so left him, I did call to him as I ran off but he was too busy play so although he heard me he left me to it! He wasn't in the good books for a short while afterwards!! We left shortly afterwards and had a wander through to market square to have a look in the shops and have a sit down with a drink. I was still feeling unwell so we decided to go for a drive around the resorts, we already knew we were coming back next year for Sy's 30th birthday and staying onsite for the first time ever so wanted to have a nosey at some resorts to decide which to stay at. We actually only looked around the Deluxe resorts as we knew we would only be staying in one of these as it was a once in a lifetime sort of trip (as in we'll never be able to afford to do it again!). We actually didn't get out of the car at any of the resorts because I was feeling so poorly but it was lovely to be able to have a quick look around and get a feel for the places. We really loved the Yacht and Beach club, Boardwalk, Poly, Contemporary and the Grand Floridian being our favorite.

On the way back to the condo we got a little snack in Taco Bell ($10), it was more for Simon's benefit as he was hungry again, it was nearly dinnertime by this point and we hadn't eaten since breakfast. We sat around watching some TV and chilling out for a few hours before getting ready to go to Celebration for dinner. We walked past Antonio's while we were there a few days before and the menu looked gorgeous but a little expensive for our budget this year, but after the wonderful gift from Anne and Cliff the day before we thought we would treat ourselves to a nice dinner. We parked the car and had a quick wander in the shops before making our way to Antonio's. We sat outside to watch the world go by, it was cool enough by then to be able to sit outside without being uncomfortable in the heat. The food was to die for! Simon had fried calamari to start but there was definitely enough for 2 there (as I said earlier in the TR though, I don't eat fish), and then for main I had chicken with mashed potato and it was gorgeous, Simon had Clam Linguine which he adored too, this will definitely be on our to do list again for next year. Dinner was $65 for the both of us which included a nice big tip for our waiter as he was delightful, he was from Paris and we talked for a long time about Paris with him as we have been many times.

A few pictures of us at Antonio's

After we paid and left we had another little walk around taking in the sights and sat for a while by the lake, before going home and getting into bed ready for an early day in Animal Kingdom

Total spends for the day
$105

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 11, Animal Kingdom

We were up early to get a full day in AK. We got to the park just after opening (not befoe stopping at a Mcdonalds drive through on the way! $10).

We stopped at the bridge to get a couple of photopass pictures.

We headed straight for Dinosaur, we ended up with a seat in the back row " wow it shook us around. I think the photo is f me holding on to Sy for dear life! We then went to watch Finding Nemo, I love that show. I don't know if I could choose my favourite out of Nemo and Lion King, I could watch them both all day.

We went on a few more rides and then went for some lunch at Yak and Yeti cafe which was lovely Smile I had sweet and sour chicken and Sy had honey chicken ($27). We couldn't finish it all as there was so much and it was so hot. We ended up sitting on a table with a lady with a baby sleeping in her arms. She offered us to sit with her as there were no tables free due to some park maintenance.

We then went on the Kali River rapids and got very VERY wet! We did then decide to go on it again afterward though teehee..... well we figured we couldn't get much wetter!

We did a few more rides and watched the lion king show and then went to do the safari as it was getting late in the day so hopefully the animals would be around.

We got a few pictures once we were got off

Look how wet my dress is!

We then made our way to the exit " not before stopping to get an ice cream though! ($6.50)

On the way home we stopped at publix to get some drinks as we were running low. ($8)

Back at the condo we weren't sure where we would like to go for dinner so we got showered and chilled out for a bit before getting in the car and heading along the 192 to see what would take our fancy. We stopped at a Chili's that we thought we would go in but there was an hour's wait. Next door was Uno & we could see it had free tables so we decided to give it a go. Our server showed us to our table and then made some suggestions for food as we had never been there before. Our server in fact was really lovely, and we gave her a hefty tip so much so that she followed us out to thank us which made me feel warm and fuzzy inside Smile unfortunately that is the best I could say about the place Sad our food was horrible. There was nothing exactly wrong with it, it wasn't overcooked or anything but it was just tasteless. We had this pizza to start that had mashed potato with cheese and bacon ON it. I don't know what I was expecting when it came but it wasn't good Sad I can't now remember that we had for our mains but neither of us were impressed with them. It's a bit disappointing as the service was one of the best we'd had in a long time but the food just didn't live up to it. I guess that's why Chili's was an hour's wait and Uno had lots of free tables. Dinner cost $52 with the hefty tip.

A few pics of us inside

After we paid and left we made our way back to the condo to get some sleep. It was getting late and we were up early this morning.

Total spend for the day
$127.50 including drinks at AK and parking.

Tomorrow Typhoon Lagoon!

Robyn - fabulous as always! I love the narration, and I shed a tear too when they left! But I LOVE the black and white pic of y'all in front of Spaceship Earth, the pic of you and Hubs in front of the Tree of Life, and your pretty curls in the last pics! Way to go with another installment. It looks like you really had a fantastic time.

We did a boat trip out of Clearwater (The Screamer jet boat) a couple of years ago. Unfortunately it was a windy day and we didn't see quite as many Dolphins as this, but it was still great to see them. Our boat driver was deliberately creating a wake for them to play with.

Great TR Robyn. I especially liked your adventure at Clearwater, my brother works at Crabby Bills and we spend a lot of time down there at the beach(we live less than an hour away). His name is Sean, how funny it would be if he was your server! I'm not sure if he was working or not, he usually works at night. The dolphin cruises are the best, we've been on many, but we've never been able to get good pics like yours. You got to see a lot of our great sunshine state, hope you had a great time!

I am still loving this TR! It is so wonderful that you can travel with your in-laws and have a great time. I think I'd want to hurl myself off of a building if I went to Orlando with mine.

How was the weather when you went? I just realized those are the exact dates we will be there next year.

Julie - our server was a girl so I dont *think* it was him Wink but we were there for lunch so that explains why if he works mostly evenings Smile if you ever get around to the conversation with him I would love it if you could tell him what a lovely meal we had Laughing out loud it was one of the best of our trip Smile

Bella the weather was lovely, very hot though! As we usually go September October time we were s bit shocked by how much warmer it was but someone on my facebook who lives in florida said it was unusually hot for that time of year so maybe it was just that. I found the crowds worse than when we usually go though, I would probably try go go in October in future.

Oh and im still wondering how we ended up in hooters..... Wink

Just for future planning, Robyn...we always seem to get this little pop of really hot weather in April or May, and its always unpredictable when it will come. This year, it definitely hit. The good news is, we already seem to be cooling off a bit - yay! It was only 73 this morning Smile

Tried to get up early today so we could get on the rides we wanted to without the big queues. We made it to TL for about 10am, without breakfast " oops!

We went to find ourselves a sun lounger to leave all of our bits and pieces before going straight over to crush and gusher. We rode them all with no queue before going in the pool to play in the waves.

After being in the pool for about an hour we started to get hungry so we decided to go and get a refillable drinks cup and something to eat ($20). Sy got a Tuna Sandwich and I got some chips. We then went to lie on our loungers and catch some rays " we did put plenty of sun cream on (or so we thought.... That will be explained later!).

After a quick snooze we went back into the pool for some more wave fun, this time with the big waves. We spent ages playing around in there. We were also watching a guy with goggles and nose clip on swim into the deep end each time the wave was coming and then riding the waves in as if he was a surf board, just with the shape of his body! He was going from very deep to shallow with each wave, was amazing to watch.

We then decided it was time to get an ice cream, as I went up to get one there was no queue and the CM gave me one he had just done and told me not to pay for it, he said to have a nice day Smile Magic happens to adults sometimes too Laughing out loud

It was then time to make our way back to the Condo to have a shower and get ready to go out for dinner at Tony Roma's. On the way home we stopped for a few supplies at Publix ($20). When we got in and I took off my sunglasses Sy took one look at me and burst our laughing... bit strange I thought but he told me to go and look in the mirror, turns out I had a bit of an accident with the suncream, I had remembered to put enough on my body, but I obviously under estimated how much I needed on my face, as I had massive Panda eyes! Not a good look let me tell you...

Anyway, we got ready and made our way to Tony Roma's. There was a little wait so we waited at the bar with a drink, it was about 20 mins before we got seated, we had actually asked for a waitress, it was the waitress we had when we were there in the days before, her name is Michelle - she was really pleased we had asked for her table. We were there for ages with our meal and by the time we were finishing it was starting to empty and so we were chatting with Michelle for ages about life in general. We then did give her a big tip as we left. (Dinner, plus bottles of Carolina Honey sauce and big tip $100).

Total spends for the day $140

We went straight home afterwards as we were heading to Hollywood

Day 13, Hollywood Studios

We were up early to make the most of the day, we had some toast in the condo before heading out, we got there about half an hour after it opened. First stop, Great Movie Ride Laughing out loud Such a great ride Laughing out loud we waited for the cowboy experience rather than the gangster experience as Sy had only ever done the gangster one. The Great Movie Ride is only as good as your host is, unfortunately we needn't have bothered waiting Sad our host's heart obviously wasn't in it which was a shame but hey ho. We then went to go on Toy Story Mania and a few other rides before stopping for a light lunch ($12) as we had an ADR for Sci-Fi later on. We watched Beauty and the Beast and then made our way to go round Walt's One Man's Dream, this was closed last year as they were updating it but it's another favourite of ours.

We then went over to do the backstage tour and the Muppets

By the time we had been on the rides we wanted over this side of the park it was time for our ADR at Sci-Fi Dine in, we had to wait for about 10 mins outside,

Just as the rain started though we got called in.

A few pics from inside.

And a few pics of our food

And one of Sy Wink

After we finished in here and paid ($55) we went to watch the little mermaid and went on Tower of Terror a few times and Rocking Rollercoaster Smile

We then went to get an ice cream ($7) and wait for Fantasmic. The show was amazing as always Smile but then it was getting late and we were really tired to we made our way straight back to the condo and into bed.

Total spends for the day $98 including about $10 on drinks and $14 on parking.

Tomorrow Blizzard Beach!

Yes I'm so sorry I havent been on, we went away to the South of France for our wedding anniversary in September (almost a month ago today) and on the day of our annisersary I had a call from my dad at about 10:30am saying my mum was in hospital and might not live, she had heart failure it turned out but they didnt know at first, so we spent the day at the sirport trying to get home. She spent a week in intensive care, then was in hospital for another week and I've been looking after her every day since then as she cant do anything at all. I've had to buy her a wheelchair to take her out as she was going so stir crazy so to say i'm a bit knackered is an understatement! But I really want to get the report finished now, cause i want to start planning the next one Laughing out loud

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 14, Blizzard Beach!

We were up quite early to try and get on all of the rides before the queues got too big, though they were already pretty massive when we got there! First stop, find a lounger, we found some in the shade today " didn't want a repeat of the other day at TL with me and my hideous panda eyes.

Once we found a lounger in the shade we went to get the ski lift to the top, I thought we were going up to do summit plummet but Sy had other ideas.... He wanted to do the family ride, he had chickened out already! Ah well, we enjoyed the ride Smile

We went to buy a barcode for our drinks cup and some lunch, we managed to find a spot in the shade to eat, the queues for lunch were massive though so lots of the tables were taken. (Lunch $18, drink $7)

We went into the pool and managed to get a ring to sit on and ride the waves, I did manage to go head first backwards out of it when I wave came, and lost my glasses, Sy had to dive down to get them for me! I feel like a little bit of a plonker Wink

We didn't do many other rides other than the first one, the queues were really big and it was too hot to stand and wait in the baking sun. We did spend a lot of time going round the lazy river though. We got an ice-cream ($3:50) and fell asleep in the shade on our loungers. When we woke up we went for another quick dip before heading out of the park.

We stopped at Publix on the way home for more drinks ($7:50). We were really tired after all the swimming so we went out to get Popeyes for dinner and then went back to the condo to watch some TV and chill out.

Total spends $50.50

Tomorrow, Downtown Disney and Dine-in Cinema

The Trip on a Budget (ish) Day 15, Downtown Disney & Dine-in Cinema

We had a lazy breakfast in the condo before heading to DTD for a bit of shopping and to catch a movie in the new 'Dine-in' Cinema. We got to DTD at about lunchtime so we checked times for the cinema and then went shopping until it was time to go in, we went to see the Hangover 2. The cinema tickets cost $22 each for a mid week daytime showing so maybe a little more expensive that most, but worth it just for the seats! They were HUGE! A waitress came to talk us through the menu and told us where the buzzer was for if we needed anything during the movie, it didn't make a noise but something lit up at the back so they would come forward and speak to us without bothering the other guests. There were only 3 other people in the cinema with us, 1 guy on his own and a couple.

A few pics from inside

The food was expensive but good (I didn't enjoy my main but that was only due to personal taste, Sy ate some of it and like it) we spent $65 on food and drinks! That was only starters and mains, no desserts or alcohol! The staff were good, we had a girl who was serving us, the only thing I would say is she checked on us a few times during the film which was annoying, we had a buzzer if we needed anything and we didn't buzz, I know this is the US way and usually its something I really like about US waiting staff, you never really need to call them as they check on you but when you're trying to watch a film I think it would have been better if they didn't bother you. It was only a few seconds at a time though and she was lovely, it's more of an observation than a criticism. We would definitely do the dine-in experience again.

After the movie we decided to make our way to the car as I needed to find a book shop for something for my mum " she is a counsellor and one of the books she wanted is an American book, it was going to cost her a lot to get the book sent to her in the UK so I was trying to save her the money and get it for her, unfortunately they didn't have the book in Barnes and Noble at the Florida Mall, I did get a cupcake book though Laughing out loud and a book for Sy for our wedding anniversary ($20)

We then went for a wander round the Florida Mall for a walk round. We were there hours but didn't buy much, just a few bits to bring home ($17). We got Chinese at the food court but it wasn't very nice Sad ($15) we then headed back to the car. We stopped on the way to put some petrol in ($35) and then made our way to Poly to watch Wishes on the beach again. We got an ice cream and a drink ($10) and found a lounger and watched the first part of Toy Story 3 before it stopped so that we could watch the fireworks. We actually didn't stay for the 2nd part of the film as I had started to feel unwell.

A few pics on the beach at Poly

We went back to the condo and I went straight to bed, I had a bad tummy and felt a bit sick.

Total spends for the day $184

Tomorrow, well it was supposed to be Blizzard Beach again to do the things we missed the other day but it doesn't really work out that way....
