Hadn't thought of that one. How about a special discount for WDWFG members.

I would love to see Disney create a pet friendly resort! One where my Willow could stay in the room with us. I'm kind of surprised they haven't done this already considering how many people love to travel with their pets! I know they did just open a "pet resort", but its still a kennel (all be it a glorified one).

I am so with you on this. I hate leaving my Colby at home. Just hate it...

But one thing id change is at AKL Jambo... id like a bigger food court. Thats my only complaint. Its cool... but wish it was bigger and easier to get to.

My thing is with the pet friendly resort....what are you going to do with the pet all day....If you are gone for 12-14 hours out of the day at the parks the poor pet can't stay in the room all that time by themself.

Thus why if they make it pet friendly... you can have someone stop by and help out with that! awesome

I'd like to see the suite option available more. I know DVC members have more options (that they pay for) but it's really hard for us with 3 kids, we'd have to get 2 rooms and split up. It's not too bad now that they are older and can stay alone near us, and its nice to have the extra room, but gets expensive.

Or at least a section at several resorts. An adults only pool would be a nice bonus too!

I've never thought about that but that's a really good idea for both adults with kids and without. As a parent I am overly cautious of how obnoxious my child is being when we are out in public when couples are around (without kids)....of course it wasn't too long ago that I was without a child and there were WAY too many snotty noses and puking in the pool incidents that I saw at the resorts. Truth.

Hey, Brandmaster I'm wishing for a new mod resort too. Hopefully with the "Haunted Mansion" themed rooms included...

Even though POR is my fave moderate resort, POFQ bus system is WAY BETTER!!!! Maybe because it is a smaller resort? All I know is when we stayed at POFQ in May, the longest we had to wait for a bus was 5 min. When we've stayed at POR it was closer to 15 min or longer that a bus would appear.

Frankly, even when you stay at a deluxe the bus system is just a bad. We stayed at WL 2 yrs ago. It was a good 10-15 min before a bus came to the depot to go to Epcot. We were really shocked that it took that long, especially when you are paying more for the deluxe resort. We still loved our stay and took the boat to MK.

We've had the exact same experience. Loved our POR stay, and especially the little pool by our room. My son and I had the best time swimming there. But the buses were a mess. Always packed, and the satellite stops were like Siberia.

Kris - have you seen Jeff's trip report about using Best Friends? He seemed to like it. I know it's not exactly the same, but I would think it would be way better than boarding your pets at home.

I can understand why Disney would not want to get into the whole "pet friendly resort" thing. I think that would just add a whole lot of trouble that Disney does not need to deal with. It's hard enough for communities to get people to police after there pets. I see it every day when we walk our dog, which we do pickup after.

Thanks Lizzy. I hadn't seen Jeff's report. Luckily my dog gets to stay with her grandparents (my parents) when we go away. I've never been able to put her in a kennel (no matter how nice it is). I'm a sucker that way.

We're planning on staying in POR when we go next year, but I keep hearing about the bus problems. Can you just walk to POFQ and get on its bus? Or do you have to be on the bus at your resort? I remember nothing about the bus system from the only time I've been in WDW (about 9 years ago). Do you think it would be better to take the boat from POR to DD and then go to the parks from there?

I thought Disney had a doggie hotel?

I think having your pets at the resorts would be a horrible idea....having dogs barking all hrs of the day and having to watch were you step all the time would suck.
I'm missing my little guy like crazy right now but I wouldn't want anyone to have to listen to him bark.

The bus delay may be due to the time of year you go. If it's "Spring Break" or any Holiday, things seem to take a lot longer.

Usually POR is about 10 min wait for a bus, when we've gone in the off season. When we went during "Spring Break" it was closer to 20 min.

The bridge in the middle of CBR. Its too steep.
I was stuck in a wheel chair on the trip that I stayed there and it was so hard to get over that thing. I would have taken a different route to the food court and bus stop but it took WAY too long to go any other way.

Good idea; however, the buses only run between the resorts and Downtown Disney. They don't have buses between DD and the parks.

Ah. Good to know. Yet another example of how awesome this site is for newbies.
