we got a rental car to drive to universal. the hardest part was getting off property but that's because we were stubborn and didn't use the GPS until we were good and confused. We just used the GPS on our phones. It worked great!

This last Disney trip, we had 2 day passes to Universal and we got hoplessly lost leaving the Universal parking garage BOTH times we were there. Our rental car had no GPS but BOTH times after getting lost we turned on our phones GPS and both times it came to the rescue. I think the direction signs at Universal's parking garage are absolutely the WORST.
No problems getting in, just getting out. Honeymoonin, when you said you had problems getting off property did you mean from WDW or Universal?

How do you get from the airport to Disney? Taxi? Limo? Rental Car?

I assume you mean from Sanford to Disney. If you're renting a car anyway, then just pick it up at the airport and drive down I4.
We've never had a rental car, so book a car with driver (not normally just a taxi) to collect us from the airport and drive us directly to the hotel. Walking out of the airport to see a smartly dressed person holding a board with your name, who calls you sir/madam and offers to carry bags, then relaxing in the comfort of a large air-conditioned car (we had a huuuuge 4x4 last time driven by Raymond) is a nice way to unwind after dealing with immigration and baggage collection. We usually manage to get some of the local news and weather forecasts from them during the journey.
We have the same person take us back to the airport when it's time to leave. It's not the cheapest way of doing it, (although we are normally splitting the cost between 4) but it works for us and is totally stress free.

That sounds fantastic, Tony!

I have loved getting a car & driver the few times that I've done it. That might be the best option for me from Sanford.

from WDW. we learned our lesson and had the GPS turned on when we left Universal, so we didn't have any issues.
