I SHALL find you a chip and dale dole whip pin (Zapperz has ensured that I will now stare at every pin trader's chest until I find him a dole whip pin.)

More parasailing pictures from this trip. This time, all of the pictures here were not taken by me. We paid an extra $25 to get the boat crew to take our pictures. Since I was the only one who got to go up due to the bad weather, they took my pictures and gave it as complimentary without charge. So that was nice of them.

So yes, this is me, dangling several hundred feet above Bay Lake.

A.) Woah that's high! Way higher than it looks from afar I think.
B.) What a cool parachute? Do they use that with everyone or did they give you the cool pirate themed one because you looked pirate-y?

I am not sure. I didn't realize that I had a pirate parachute until I looked at these pictures. I didn't look up when I was on it (I was busing looking down and looking around).

It certainly looked very high, even from above. Still, I only went for the "standard" height (400 ft), not the "deluxe" (650 ft). Even then, I could already see the top of the Contemporary.

laugh I'm not sure WHAT I'd be doing. Hopefully I'd have my eyes open, but who knows. Heights can do weird things to me eek

Z--thanks for sharing those pictures. Really looks like a lot of fun up there! How much more is the "deluxe" height?

Y'know what, I don't quite remember what I paid for the ride. I'm guessing that the standard ride was $95, but I forgot whether that was with or without the DVC discounts. Yes, DVC member gets either a 10% or 15% discount on doing such activities. So I don't remember what the deluxe would cost.

Zz.

Edit: here's the website for the parasailing activity at the sammyduval website. It's $95/person for a single, before the DVC discount.

Hrm. So deluxe is quite a bit more. I think I'd still be tempted to try it. Although 400 feet is ... uh ... 40 stories? Is that right?

More photo of pins that I got during this pin event. These are some of the more "notable" pins that I traded for. A few of them are jumbo pins, and I think with the exception of one, they were all traded with a number of other pins with traders at the event.

I put a quarter in the picture just so you have some idea on the size of the pin.

I have to mention a little "issue" that is associated with this jumbo pin.

I can only relate the story based on 2nd or 3rd hand information. It seems that in one version of the story, this was done by the pin artist rather on purpose. If you look at the pin, you see Mickey standing in front of a popcorn cart. But look at one of his ears and how it actually blocks part of the word "popcorn". If that ear becomes an "O", then what it reads is "Hot Porn"!

One pin trader told me that this jumbo pin was pulled by Disney because of that, while another told me that it was never pulled. In any case, that story in itself was worth getting this jumbo pin for. I actually intended to trade for it before I was told the story. Most avid pin collectors that I talked to were aware of the "hot porn" pin, as it has become known.

So now I own one of them. Smile

I would never have noticed that had you not mentioned it, but now that you've pointed it out it seems too much to be a coincidence. Especially when combined with all the other shenanigans that artists like to pull.

So, during this trip, we celebrated 2 events: a birthday, and an anniversary. You should have seen the pictures of the cakes we had for these events during our dinner at Sanaa.

This is my video compilation dedicated to these two celebrations. So this will be the first of my "video production" for this trip. I finally had some time to do a bit of editing, and this is the result.

{Unfortunately, I had to get a 2 or 3 still photo pictures from previous trips to supplement the video shots here since I didn't get enough footage of the anniversary couple.}

Nope. The fireworks shots were from another trip. I didn't get any fireworks video on this trip at all. But I needed some for the video to go with the music. So I had to raid my "video library". Smile

I think it's hilarious that pin traders all know the story of the "hot porn" pin.

Great video, by the way--that music is really unique! I've never heard the two songs mixed together!

That's a track from "Mannheim Steamroller Meets The Mouse" CD. It's one of my most favorite CDs.

Once I figured out the music, the video editing came easier. So here is my video of the Museum of Pin-tiquities pin event.
