I think TV on the plane is a feature that it's really hard to go without once you've had the experience.

I find it easy to go without it, as I flew with a DVD playing laptop for years, and now make sure I have video on my Ipod. I have the program that allows me to download programs from my Tivo and convert them to Ipod playback.

I've had several trips where the guy next to me was watching a movie that I wanted to watch. I feel really weird about trying to watch over his shoulder though...

Several years ago I bought my wife one of the 'Sex & The City' seasons on DVD. While flying somewhere, we were watching the "Rabbit" episode. Thats the one where Charlotte falls in love with her.... (well, figure it out....) and won't leave the apartment.

I was AMAZED the number of people who said something to me about that episode when I got up and moved around. There are a LOT of people who look over the shoulders of travelers with video.

laugh Did they consider it inappropriate for public viewing, or were they just glad they had something to watch?

I don't really know why they should mind, but I don't want to inhibit their experience. I mean if I wanted to watch a movie I should have brought my own right? It's kind of like when there's a movie on TNT that you wouldn't have gone and rented it or anything, but now that it's on you feel compelled to watch it.
