Scrappy, is that the name of the pool at the Poly?

If that is the Poly Pool, I'd love to see it! Must be well hidden...I've never managed a glimpse Smile

Mase and Jess, I've never stayed at AKL. What are some of the highlights of the pool? Does it overlook the savanna, perchance?

Mrhub just a quick question. Does the "crater" of that volcano glow red at night? That would be so cool if they had red lights in there at night.

Oh, Thanks, Jess! I'll look forward to it. The next time we're over for a zebra dome run Smile I'll run outside and check it out. I've been meaning to take DH to AKL for a date nite, anyway. I've been telling him about Jiko's amazing flatbread.

Nope. He'll have to get his own Smile

Still thinking I should look for a bottle of amarula! After all, that's what makes them so delish!

Sanna also has a great flat bread type appetizer, but I forget what it was called.

Yeah you should definatley check it out. They have a nice pool side bar if you are into that kind of thing. They also have a couple secluded hot tubs that are nice to go to to get away from everything. And they don't mind having people from other resorts stop by for a swim. There is no checking of ID's at Animal Kingdom Lodge. You could even walk around and check out the savanna and the animal view if you wanted.

AKL really does just seem like a very welcoming place. This is probably an odd thing to say, but it sounds like a great resort to stay in if you have local friends who come and visit for a day.

Here's the pic for you Lizzy...I was looking through our pics and we really don't have many of the pool. This is the only one I could find. It was taken from the balcony of our room. There is a big waterslide over to the right and there are also several hot tubs all spread around the pool and even a kiddie pool.

Great pics! I've never seen the pool area at the Poly, it's so neat. I like that it is right on 7 seas lagoon! Are you able to see the MK fireworks from the pool, or is it situated differently than I am imagining it?

Well Ya finally did it. Turned the board. It was just a matter of time. I have been around a long time and understand human nature. Just being over 21 doesn't make you grown up and certainly not mature.
Have at it.
Too bad.

If you go to Storm-along Bay after 5pm they don't check to see which resort you're staying in or even if you are staying at any Disney resort. Yes I am breaking the rules! muchlove

I think it would be awesome if Disney had a salt water pool! I work at a property that has one and always think about how awesome it would be to go swimming in a salt water pool...

My dream pool would be salt water, waterfalls, lazy river, sandy bottom, rocky edges and ledges to sunbath on, a nice big adults only cavern with a bar/barstools (disney does not have any pools with a pool bar like some resorts on tropical isands), and beachy music playing through hidden speakers... Ah yes... Disney should take that idea and run with it..

I have only been to Boardwalk pool... It's alright....

I have been to the Poly, Contemporary, and GF pools. While the volcano is a nice touch at the Poly, there is music (sometimes Tiki lounge music, sometimes from the CM's doing their kid's games) ALL THE TIME and I found it aggravating at times. The GF has a separate adult pool. The contemporary's pool was nice, all of them (CR, Poly, GF) have slides. I agree that the pool at the Poly is nice to watch the FW. We are staying soon at the WL and their pool looks great. I haven't ever stayed at Beach club but my husband did about 20 yrs ago and STILL raves about it!
I should also add that when we took my son down the volcano slide at the Poly, it smelled like pee! sarcastic
