I finally tried Tower of Terror during this trip, and let's just say, if there had been one more drop on that thing, that might have been the end of my day at DHS. I was getting a little nauseated. I probably won't do it again.

Actually, spinning, drops, turns - none of that bothers me. What does? Dinosaur! The seating for that is so cramped, and for someone with long legs, my knees got so banged around last time on it I actually had bruises! I will NEVER go on that thing again - it's just too painful!

How do you fare on Rock N' Roller Coaster? I've always thought that was a bit cramped too. Especially in the back seat of each 2 car set.

Actually - I have no problems on Rock and Roller Coaster. I'm a big guy - I have big shoulders and in other parks I have a hard time with shoulder harnesses a lot. They don't close over my shoulders and so can't come down far enough to lock in place. As a result, I don't get to ride a lot of rides I would like to - but RnRC I have no problem with - Disney did a great job designing those harnesses so anyone can fit. As for the seats being cramped, they are but not so badly I can't deal for the 30 second ride. Space Mt. is actually a little harder to squeeze into from a leg cramping point of view!

I was looking around forever for this thread. I was trying to remember who had said RnRC was a killer. Apparently it was CDub who was in the camp with me. I started a thread because I know I'm forgetting some rides that are terrible for big people:

Sorry to heat that, Solo! I put off riding forever as I'm a bit scared of heights, but I really enjoy it now.

Hi,

I think that the first time I rode Tower of Terror--it may have been Monday October 16, 2000 or more likely Tuesday, October 17, 2000--I got off of it feeling like a James Bond martini--shaken, not stirred.

The worst ride for me is probably Primeval Whirl at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Spinning while going up and down hills--uh uh.

I still like Primeval Whirl.

I didn't get on ToT. When I finally got up the nerve to go on, it was because I was a little tipsy. Max didn't want me to go on it then. He figured he may have to babysit me if it didn't go well.

I have resigned myself to the fact that I may never be the Coaster Fiend I used to be.

That's so sad. I heard you talking about that on another thread and I think I'm headed the same way. Here's my theory--when you're younger, you just don't THINK about how things work or what the circumstances are. When you're older, you over-analyze...

agree. Definitely over- analyzing. I am 42, wife is 31 and she had to pretty much plead with me to get on BTMR, which in the previous years I had ridden atleast 100 times. We go back on Aug 22nd, hope to ride more, and not analyze so much. I don't over-analyze the bad for me food I eat. Maybe that's a good thing. . Thanks, glad to be here.

Yes, BTMRR is a particularly bad one. I seem to always have problems with rickety roller coasters these days--never used to.

I'm 6'2" or 6'3" and I don't remember having too much trouble with Dinosaur. I've been on it at least four or five times. Wonder if I just don't remember the banged up knees because I love it otherwise? Or maybe it's relatively easy for me to squeeze in there because I have an otherwise small frame.

I can't think of any Disney attractions that don't agree with me. Generally speaking, the only ones that bother me are ones where the fear factor far outweighs the fun factor. I'll go on anything, no matter how scary, but if it's super scary and not all that fun...not worth it for me. Good example is Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. First time I rode it it was the tallest and fastest coaster on the planet. It's 420 feet tall and accelerates to 120 mph in just a few seconds. I enjoyed it, but that's all it does. Goes fast, goes up, goes down, you're done. For me it's just more scary than it is fun. I've been on it twice and would ride again if I went with my wife (if she wanted to go on it), but wouldn't go out of my way to go on it otherwise.

Not that it doesn't agree with me, per se, but TT doesn't do a thing for me. I found it absolutely boring. I don't know if it was my mood that day or the fact that I drove a very fast sports car at the time (which made TT seem like a ride to grandma's house in the family station wagon). Either way, I was very disappointed. I will give it another shot this trip though.

I've read a lot of debates on whether the Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka is better. Either way I think the biggest part is being scared about getting on it, since it's only about 45 seconds of ride.

KK has a little "bump" after you do the main climb/dive and is slightly higher, but the cars on TTD don't have shoulder restraints (last I read) so you feel less "locked in" which I always find much more exciting. I always think those shoulder restraints eliminate a lot of the excitement for me.

They didn't last time I was on it. The "bump" on KK is the wee bit I was referring to. Minor element, but I think weightlessness is real fun. On TTD, the only real exciting part for me was the point at the very top. I didn't find the acceleration, ascent, or descent that thrilling (were fun, just not a big deal to me). There are a lot of rides with one or more of those elements that I think are much more fun.
