No one has mentioned the obvious......the transporter! {Transportation device that converts objects or persons to energy, sends that energy to the destination, and reconstitutes the objects/persons back into matter.} Gotta love Star Trek!
Only down side I can see is that it can't beam objects through deflector shields........
