Walt Disney World Restaurants Harvests Unserved Food for Local Food Bank

There is a growing trend among major restaurant chains that involves "harvesting" unused food for local food banks, and Walt Disney World has been participating for many years.

The Walt Disney World Resort has been operating a harvest program for more than two decades, and the company has a food harvest truck that picks up food daily from every Disney World restaurant, convention center, and the theme parks' catering service.

2014 Festival of the Masters Cancelled Due to Disney Springs Construction

This year's Festival of the Masters has been cancelled due to the ongoing construction at Downtown Disney.

The three-day art festival has been housed in Downtown Disney's West Side, but Disney recently announced that the festival will not be held this year as that area is unavailable due to the expansion construction.

This would have marked the 39th year of the Festival of the Masters. Last year's even featured more than 300 artists showcasing photography, painting, glasswork, sculptures, and more.

Disney Files Several Patent Applications for Drone Use in the Theme Parks

It sounds a little bit like something straight out of science fiction, but Disney recently filed three patent applications related to drone use in its theme parks.

The three patent applications are for: Aerial Display System with Floating Pixels, Aerial Display System with Floating Projection Screens, and Aerial Display System with Marionettes Articulated and Supported by Airborne Devices.

Disney Parks Moms Panel Search Begins September 2

It's that time of year again: the search for the newest members of the Disney Parks Mom Panel opens September 2.

The Disney Parks Moms Panel has been around since 2008 when it was called the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Several years ago the name was changed to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to include other Disney vacation experiences including Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and runDisney.

The panel might be called the "Moms Panel" but there are dads, aunts, and grandparents answering questions as panelists too.

Magic Kingdom’s ‘Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!’ Street Party to be Updated this Fall

Walt Disney World is updating the Magic Kingdom's 'Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!' Street Party.

Starting this fall the street party is getting a new name in addition to several new characters including Stitch and Phineas and Ferb. Once the updates have been made it will be known as the 'Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It!' Street Party.

The updated procession will still begin on Main Street U.S.A. and will make its way to Cinderella Castle. The emcee, stilt walkers, and characters will still be part of the new program.
