Finding Dory, the sequel to 2003's hit Finding Nemo, is not going to take place out in the Big Blue but instead most of the action will reportedly take place at the Marine Biology Institute of California.
The plot details for the film were recently revealed by Pixar President Jim Morris at the Comic-Con Experience in Brazil.
The film takes place several months after Nemo was rescued and finds Nemo, Marlin, and Dory living on the same reef. When Dory goes on a school field trip with Nemo she is confronted with memories of her past and her family.
Dory, Marlin, and Nemo travel to California to the Marine Biology Institute of California, which is where Dory was born and raised before being released into the wild.
Some sources are reporting that the plot of the film was changed after the Blackfish documentary showed how killer whales are treated in captivity. The New York Times also reported that the film's ending was changed so moviegoers understand that sea creatures in the film's marine park can leave if they want to.
Ellen DeGeneres will once again voice Dory, and Albert Brooks will provide the voice for Marlin. Other voice actors include Eugene Levy as Dory's dad Charlie and Diane Keaton as Dory's mom Jenny.
Finding Dory has a release date of June 17, 2016.
