And the 2013-2014 Walt Disney World Ambassadors Are . . .

Two people were recently announced as the Walt Disney World Ambassadors for 2013 - 2014 in true Disney fashion - in a ceremony complete with confetti and fanfare.

Cast members Tye Arnold and Rich Tamayo were revealed as Disney's picks for WDW Ambassadors during the recent ceremony at America Gardens Theater in Epcot. The pair were selected after a two-month search for cast members who would "exemplify the talent and excellence of Walt Disney World Resort and demonstrate an understanding of the company's heritage and, above all, Disney passion."

The Ambassador program reaches back to 1965, when Walt Disney himself sought a way to keep up with an abundance of appearance requests. Today's Ambassadors can be expected make appearances throughout central Florida at various events as well as help mark special events in the lives of fellow cast members.

Arnold and Tamayo's term begins in January 2013 and will end in December 2014.

How nice. Glad they are keeping Walt's tradition up.

I thought the "Ambassadors" represented Disney all over the world? Just thinking back to an old "Wonderful World of Disney" episode.

Today each Disney Resort area has it's own set of Ambassadors. WDW, Disneyland, Tokyo, and so on...
