Animal Kingdom’s ‘Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade’ to end in June

For the second time this year, a Walt Disney World park is ending a parade.

The Animal Kingdom's afternoon parade, Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade, is set to end in June according to sources at Disney.

Earlier this year the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade ended at the Magic Kingdom and will be replaced with the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade next month.

The end of Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade is due to the ongoing construction for the new Avatar-inspired land at the Animal Kingdom. The expansion's constructions will soon move into the viewing area and parade path.

The Avatar area is scheduled to open in 2017, taking over and expanding beyond the Camp Minnie-Mickey area in the park.

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade has been performed at the Animal Kingdom since October 2001 and also has a holiday version, Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade.

There is no replacement scheduled for the Jammin' Jungle Parade and all cast members will be found other jobs at Walt Disney World.

I'm sad that this parade is ending, however I'm sure that there will be something wonderful coming in its place.

This is one of my favorite parades, and will be missed. My sis in law and I are visiting in October. She's never been to the Animal Kingdom and I bragged up this parade, Between the missing Lion King show, construction and now this parade gone. I am afraid it will be hard to convince her of the charms of this park :o( I am not crazy about what I see for the Fantasy parade (though I will give it a chance) and I especially do not like the new Mickey and Minnie. Disney is losing it's charm factor for me and that's saying alot considering my 20 plus visits to DL and WDW and unofficial Disney adviser status. :o(

Disney executives give, and they take away.

So Disney is eliminating attractions and events at the same time you are raising admission fees. Great move! NOT.

One of my favorite things at Disney parks are the parades. I get to see my characters and dancers and also get a rest for a few minutes. Then it is back to go, go, go.

SAD!! Our family loved this parade. Sitting eating a frozen lemonade & waiting for the music to come near. The interaction our little one's were lucky enough to have gave us great memories, lots of hugs & high 5's.

That is unfortunate! We decided to skip this parade in Feb this year (as we saw it last year). Now I wish we hadn't skipped it - as we won't be back until Jan of 2015. Hopefully there will be a replacement parade announced sometime soon!
