April is Earth Month and April 17 is Earth Day, and Disney's Animal Kingdom is celebrating with sand sculptures, special merchandise events, and more. The theme park kicked off the month with the unveiling of a giant sand sculpture that celebrates the upcoming release of Disneynature's Monkey Kingdom.

Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrates Earth Month

The film opens April 17 and follows the adventures of Maya, a blonde-bobbed monkey and her son Kip in the jungles of South Asia. Guests can check out the sand sculpture at the front of the park this month.

From April 18-22 Disney's Animal Kingdom is celebrating Earth Day with special merchandise events. There is a special product showcase with representative from Just Plumerias and Elemental Nursery.

The representative from Just Plumerias will be at the Mombasa Marketplace on April 18-22, while reps from Elemental Nursery will be at Disney Outfitters on the same days. Artists Bushman #1 and William Silvers will be showcasing their artwork at Disney Outfitters.

And in animal baby news, Disney's Animal Kingdom recently welcomed another baby white rhino. After asking fans to vote on her name, it was announced that the baby rhino's name is Kiama.
