Happy Wednesday. We've made it to the middle of the week and it's time for another Disney news round-up where we give you some of the big news of the week so far in brief. Today we're talking about recovery efforts for Hurricane Matthew, a big celebration in Disneyland Paris, and much more. Let's check it out.
The Walt Disney Company has announced that it is donating $1 million to humanitarian aid efforts helping people and communities that were devastated by Hurricane Matthew. Disney's donations will go to the American Red Cross and Save the Children.
Disney has announced its new marketing campaign: The Magic is Endless. This campaign begins this fall and runs through 2017 with the tagline, "Discover the Magic of Walt Disney World Resort, Where Moments and Memories Have No Limits."
This year is The Walt Disney Studios' best year ever at the international box office. Through October the Studios have earned $3.556 billion which surpasses the 2015 record of $3.565 billion. Several big films are still coming this year including Marvel's Doctor Strange and the stand-alone Star Wars film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Disneyland Paris is gearing up for its 25th anniversary in April 2017. The park will be decorated with "starry decorations" and guests can enjoy exclusive shows, the reopening of Star Tours: The Adventure Continues, and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain.
And finally, Disney CEO Bob Iger is writing a book on management for Random House. The book will draw on his years at The Walt Disney Company and is expected to be published near the time of his retirement in 2018.
