Disney Offers a Sneak Peek of Avatar-Inspired Land During D23 Expo
As construction continues on the Avatar-themed land at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney Imagineering gave D23 Expo attendees a sneak peek at the new area that is scheduled to open in 2017.

The model featured floating mountains that will be the centerpiece of Pandora, and the land is also filled with wooden bridges, rivers, dense forests, and luminescent plants. At night the area will glow just like the forests of Pandora did in the film.
Disney says they want guests to feel like they are tourists on the planet of Pandora and at the Expo guests were actually led into the exhibit by the Alpha Centauri Expeditions travel agency.
The preview exhibit also featured models of exotic animals and some of the clothing that will be worn by the Pandora natives. Today at the Expo Disney is hosting the Parks and Resorts panel and it seems likely that more information about the Avatar area will be presented.

I've never even seen Avatar, nor do I have the desire to, however, a new land coming is still really exciting! I do wish it was something else, but obviously a ton of people love Avatar.

I am very excited about the new Avatar area at Animal Kingdom it looks incredible & I cannot wait to see it. It speaks of everything that Disneys animal kingdom means.
