Why is it people don't think the coast guard is part of the military branch?

Maybe because it used to fall under the Department of Transportation and people don't realize that it's now under Homeland Security? I'm not really sure, but I do know that Traci meant no offense in her wording and just wanted to make it very clear that the Coast Guard and National Guard were included in the special pricing.

Does this include people who didn't retire, but had to get out due to a disability and get va disability status?

Ken B - Only if you were retired due to military disability and have that ID card. For instance I have a 10% disability settlement from the Navy, but I do not qualify for this program because I didn't get full retirement.
