Epcot’s World Showcase: France and China Pavilions To Get New Attractions in Preparation For Park Anniversary

There was a plethora of intriguing announcements made at the D23 Expo Parks and Resorts Presentation on Saturday, with a new vision for Future World that includes restaurants and attractions taken to astonishing new heights. Future World isn't alone in the rededicated vision for the Park, and we found out that great things are coming for World Showcase as well.

Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman, along with Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald shared an overview of the plans that are coming just around the corner. Keeping with the vision to make Epcot "make it more timeless, more relevant, more family and more Disney" World Showcase will be getting some Disneyfied updates in time for the Park's 35th Anniversary.

As we anticipated, Disneyland Paris' #1 attraction - Ratatouille will find a Florida home in a brand new section of the France Pavilion to be located beyond the Eiffel tower. Guests will take the perspective of a mouse and join the little chef on a grand adventure, chasing across the kitchen and dining room with all the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau's Parisian restaurant. Concept art of the pavilion expansion shows a marquee in the area calling the new attraction "Kitchen Calamity."

Across the Lagoon in the China Pavilion, news came in the form of a brand new movie. Reflections of China was groundbreaking at the time Epcot opened, giving guests a look into the Forbidden City and at spaced that few outsiders had been shown before. Refreshing the spirit of innovation in the pavilion Disney has pioneered brand new digital technology and filming techniques to create next-generation digital camera system used in filming a brand new, seamless Circle-Vision show.

While we did not get the announcement many were expected of a new country being added, Fitzgerald promised fans that the announcements for Epcot at D23 were just a glimpse at what would be coming to as the Park gussies up. I can't wait to hear what will be coming next!
