Disney News Round-up For Friday, September 28th, 2018

Let's get right to it! There were a couple of fun announcements made regarding Epcot's Holidays Around The World celebration, including an the announcement of four more celebrity narrators for Epcot's Candlelight Processional. Disney Buying Back $8 Billion in Stock

The Walt Disney Company recently announced plans to buy back nearly $8 billion in stock beginning next year.

The announcement was made by Chief Financial Officer Jay Rasulo at an investor's meeting in California. Disney says they expect an increase in cash flow, which is the reason behind the buy back.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort Announced as Next Disney Vacation Club Location

After much speculation, it's official. Disney's Polynesian Resort is the next location for the Disney Vacation Club.

This announcement came via press release that was quickly shared online, and comes after much debate as to where they next DVC location might be. The newest DVC property, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, is scheduled to open on October 23.

June 30th, 2018 Opening Planned For Toy Story Land

Last week Disney fans went wild as the announcement came that the all-new Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World Resort would see it's official opening on June 30, 2018. The first full Land to open as part of a plan to revitalize Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park, Toy Story Land with take Guests on a toy's eye view journey through Andy's backyard.

Epcot’s World Showcase: France and China Pavilions To Get New Attractions in Preparation For Park Anniversary

There was a plethora of intriguing announcements made at the D23 Expo Parks and Resorts Presentation on Saturday, with a new vision for Future World that includes restaurants and attractions taken to astonishing new heights. Toy Story Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort

As if there wasn't already enough exciting news about the Disney's Hollywood Studios Star Wars Expansion yesterday - Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek also created even more fabulous Disney Parks buzz with news with the announcement of Toy Story Land! Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort will be the location of this new land, inspired by the "Toy Story" film franchise.

Diane Disney Miller, Walt Disney's Daughter, Passes Away At Age 79

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we must report the death of Diane Disney Miller, daughter of Walt Disney. She passed away in her Napa, California home on Tuesday, November 19th due to complications from a sudden fall she took in September. Diane Disney Miller was 79 years old.

Details for Avatar-Inspired Land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Announced at D23 Expo Japan

After two years of rumor and speculation, the Avatar-themed land at Disney's Animal Kingdom really is happening.

Last weekend at the D23 Expo Japan, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Tom Staggs presented a first look at the new Avatar-inspired experience at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
